It was the season-high fifth-straight loss for the Bobcats, who were coming off a 112-85 loss to the Clippers the night before. Charlotte has lost six straight in Portland. Video: Bobcats rookie Cody Zeller’s embarrassing missed dunk

It certainly started off right for Charlotte Bobcats rookie center Cody Zeller as he breaks through for a big dunk on New Year’s Day. Maybe next year, kid… Per USA TODAY Sports: Zeller, the No. 4 pick in the 2013 NBA draft, finished the game 0-for-6 from the field (with six points on free throws) in a 112-85 loss. So he’s probably fine with Jan. 1 being over.

The Charlotte Hornets Are Back: Is Hugo The Hornet Rocking Jordan XI’s In The New Charlotte Logo?

Now that all all of the hype as died down from the recent news of the NEW Charlotte Hornets logo set, I thought I’d take a moment to put my two cents in the pot of public opinion. First of all, let’s not forget: The Charlotte Bobcats (as they are known now) are still a […]The post The Charlotte Hornets Are Back: Is Hugo The Hornet Rocking Jordan XI’s In The New Charlotte...

Cody Zeller has never had a New Year’s kiss

Hopefully all of you out there enjoyed your New Year’s Eve and got that special someone to give you that midnight kiss as we entered 2014. Sadly for Bobcats rookie Cody Zeller, he was not as fortunate in getting that midnight kiss. Check out this tweet that he posted to his account just before the clock hit twelve: Happy New Years!!!! I'm now 0-21 on that whole "midnight...

Cody Zeller comes up short on dunk attempt against Clippers

As previously noted here on That NBA Lottery Pick, we love when NBA players miss dunks and during last night’s Clippers/Bobcats affair, we had an epic one. In the second quarter of play, Zeller got the ball on a transition opportunity after a nice pass from teammate Kemba Walker. Watch as he tries to throw down the one-handed jam but gets denied by the rim: *** Zeller image courtesy...

Cody Zeller bricks dunk in epic fashion (Video)

This is too funny. During Wednesday’s Clippers-Bobcats game, Cody Zeller went slashing down the lane and took off for what looked like would become an awesome dunk. Instead, Zeller was hung by the rim and will be making highlight reels for all the wrong reasons. That bricked dunk was epic. What’s almost even better is […]

Video: Cody Zeller tries to dunk on Blake Griffin, fails in hilarious fashion

Tweet Charlotte Bobcats rookie Cody Zeller has a lot of potential, but he didn’t look like it on the above dunk attempt against the Clippers on New Years Day. Zeller tried to channel his inner Michael Jordan — part owner of the Bobcats — but Zeller ended up getting rejected by the rim. Thanks for the laugh, rookie. -ALR

Dear God, What In The World Was Cody Zeller Thinking?

God bless Cardboard Gerald for all of his hard work and dedication. His given name is Ben Swanson, and he truly is one of the finer young journalists in the basketball blogosphere, but I only really know this man for his blogging exploits in covering the Charlotte Hornets Bobcats under the name Cardboard Gerald. Rough 2nd Half Hands Cats 4th Loss in a Row

(Courtesy NBAE / Getty Images) · Game Breakdown The start of the 2014 season for the Bobcats had been going very well: the team was off to its best start in franchise history, Kemba has been steadily improving under our small-market microscope, and the team had been putting up some awesome numbers defensively. Then a game like last night happens.   What “last...

Blazers put the hammer down on Bobcats 134-104

It was an absolute steamroll by the Portland Trail Blazers as they slaughtered the Charlotte Bobcats 134-104 at the Moda Center Thursday night. The Trail Blazers (26-7) shot an amazing 21-of-33 from three-point range, tying a franchise record for threes in a game. The NBA record for most threes in a game is 23. Wesley Matthews led the Trail Blazers in scoring with 25 points and...

Bobcats-Kings Preview

As one of the lowest-scoring teams in the NBA, the Charlotte Bobcats rely on defensive stops to win. They'll try to get back to doing so Saturday night at Sacramento as they look to snap a five-game losing streak while salvaging a win on this five-game trip. "Our team is thinking too much about offense, we have individual guys who need to build their games around their...

Bobcats Trounced 85-112 By Clippers

I said it would suck, and for one quarter I thought I was wrong. The Bobcats led 27-25 after one period, and I was mildly excited. It wouldn’t take long for Blake “But-He-Can’t-Do-Anything-But-Dunk” Griffin scored 31 points and led the Clippers to an easy, inevitable victory. The final score was 85-112. At least it wasn’t the Jazz. The Bobcats scored 13 points in the third...
