Charlotte forward Josh McRoberts is sidelined Wednesday night against the Boston Celtics for what the Bobcats called ''personal reasons.'' Anthony Tolliver started in place of McRoberts, who scored a season-high 19 points in a loss at Atlanta on Monday. The 6-foot-10 McRoberts is averaging 9.0 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.1 assists. Tolliver is shooting just 33 percent from the field, but 42 percent from 3-point range in five games. The team expects McRoberts back on Friday when it plays at Cleveland.

Michael Jordan Plays Beer Pong (Pics)

Michael Jordan got in a little beer pong game at a Miami hotel—yes, beer pong. That’s Jordan in a Jordan Brand tee shirt, wearing Air Jordans. MJ is notorious for his competitiveness, so one could assume that’s what drove him to join in the frat activity. Apparently, Jordan violated the “elbow rule,” which states, per Beerpongnews.com: The “elbow rule” states that...

“Tanking” is widely misinterpreted in the NBA

Tuesday night’s State Farm Champions Classic in Chicago featured two highly anticipated college basketball games in which 68 NBA scouts attended (yes, sixty-eight). Wait, there were actually 68 scouts in attendance of these two games?  I know all 30 NBA teams don’t plan on drafting Kansas’ Andrew Wiggins, Duke’s Jabari Parker, or Kentucky’s Julius Randle. Well, okay...

What Do We Know After Our 3-4 Start?

The buzz (pardon the pun) around the team was at a recent high headed into Charlotte's final season under the Bobcats moniker. The team boasted a litany of positive, arguably chest thump worthy news: a new head coach who worked his way up from deep within the ranks of the NBA coaching pantheon who immediately assembled an impressive squad of assistant coaches. A promising...

Horrendous 3rd Quarter for the Bobcats Seals their Fate

A horrendous third quarter, in which the Bobcats were outscored 34-16, spoiled Al Jefferson and Coach Steve Clifford’s return to game-action, as the Hawks downed the Cats 103-94 in Charlotte.   Monday’s game proved yet again that winning in the NBA requires four consistent quarters in terms of effort and execution.     The third quarter was...

Michael Jordan's Chicago mansion set to be auctioned

The No. 23 is one of the most recognizable numbers in sports history, but those bidding on Michael Jordan's mansion in Chicago, Ill., will certainly need to count a bit higher. Well, much higher. Jordan, an NBA Hall of Famer and owner of the Charlotte Bobcats, is putting his home in the Highland Park district up for auction on Nov. 22. The home was previously offered at 29 million...

Underrated Stat of the Night - Bobcats 11/13

Tonight, the Celtics were absolutely stunned at home by the Charlotte Bobcats, 89-83. The Cats started this one off a 20-9 run, which basically got them through the entire game. The Celtics would never take the lead due to an overall terrible performance, dropping their record to 4-5. Sorry this paragraph wasn't very insightful, but I'll be honest I'm a little mad right...
