After last year’s NBA Finals, it became fashionable to call LeBron James a choker and to point out how he tended to disappear in the fourth quarter of games. For everyone who enjoyed that pastime last June, LeBron gave all of you a chance to reprise your jabs with his performance last night. I was grazing through the channels and found the Heat/Clippers game in the middle of the 3rd quarter; the game was close and the players were taking it seriously so I watched.
In the last six or seven minutes, the Heat concentrated on getting LeBron the ball near the basket; this was not the “stand-around-and-pop-up-a-three-point-jump-shot” version of LeBron James; he was aggressive with the ball. In doing that, he drew a large number of fouls as would any NBA star player in that circumstance.
