TEAMS: Brooklyn Nets, Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Bobcats
The NBA trade deadline is February 21st, a little over a week a way. Of course the rumors are starting to heat up but one move that seems likely to happen is the Hawks moving Josh Smith. The most active team in trade rumors, the Brooklyn Nets. The Nets are said to be in high pursuit of Josh Smith but nothing is close. The Nets are also said to be interested in a trade with the Bobcats sending Kris Humphries to Charlotte for Ben Gordon. Smith is the priority in these trade scenarios.
The Nets are willing to give up Humphries and second-year shooting guard MarShon Brooks for Smith. But it almost certainly will take more than a Humphries-Brooks combination to pry Smith away from Atlanta, and one source said the Hawks want Brooklyn’s first-round pick.
Some scenarios that have been discussed include the Hawks’ Anthony Morrow, who played the past two seasons with the Nets, returning to the club.
The Hawks are looking for a young center in return for Smith.

Hawks will not offer Josh Smith max contract, exploring trade options
Josh Smith is having yet another well-balanced, 'Josh Smith-esque' type season for the 27-22 Hawks, putting up 16.9 points, 8.5 boards, 4.0 assists, 2.2 blocks and 1.3 steals a game, the only player in the NBA averaging 16/8/4/2/1. Josh Smith activated full-troll-mode in Dallas, where he drained a career-high four three-pointers (on just five tries) as the Hawks defeated the Mavericks 105-101. Needless to say, he also did some really stupid ****; even his made three-pointers were actually stupid ****, but they happened to not be airballs somehow. Smith didn’t do nearly as much stupid **** as the Mavericks...
