The Milwaukee Bucks lost to the San Antonio Spurs by a final score of 110-99. The game was tied going into the 4th, but then Sanders Show got called for a goaltend early in the 4th, Skiles got himself T’d up arguing the call, and the Spurs (reserves) pulled away. The game was literally over within two minutes of that call. I think the only commentary McGlocklin offered in the 4th quarter was “Wow, really?” and “Ok, now you gotta get stops”. They didn’t. The Bucks fall to 8-9 and are now third in the division. Positives: Illyasova looked great. His shot and his entire game finally appeared to have some rhythm. He finished with 17 points on 7/12 shooting. Dalembert seemed to have more energy off the bench. Or maybe it was just because he has hardly played the last several games. Negatives: The Bucks gave up a ton of offensive rebounds. The Spurs were shooting like ****, but when you give em 2-3 chances, eventually they will score. Monta Ellis couldn’t seem to hit an open shot. So he decided to take it into the lane and then had to take contested shots, which he couldn’t make either. Alot of the same from Jennings. At one point, Ellis penetrated, pretty clearly saw the blazing hot Ersan Illyasova standing wide open with hands in ready position at the three point line, but instead of passing, forced some ******** shot up. Pass the ball fellas. Observations: The Bucks inserted Larry Sanders into the starting line up for the first time this year. Udoh and Daniels also started. This was the Bucks 5th different starting line up on the year. The idea was to provide more energy to start the game. Sanders got in foul trouble early, but the lineup seems to have worked in terms of energy, as they had the lead at the end of the 1st quarter – rather than spotting the other team 15 points. Hopefully they can settle on a rotation now. You know how Ray Allen sometimes runs through like 4 screens and then drains a three? They should have Doran Lamb do that, as the kid clearly has a pure stroke if he is open and set. Just don’t let him dribble. Tobias Harris played only in garbage time again. I’m not sure what he did, or if he is hurt, but seems odd to go from somewhat effective started to garbage time only player. In other News: 1) The New Orleans Hornets will be changing their name to the New Orleans Pelicans. Really. It’s the state bird. Then the Bobcats might change back to Hornets – then they just need to get Mugsy, Larry Johnson, and Alonzo back, and all will be good. 2) Rip Hamilton is now out indefinitely for the Bulls due to torn plantar fascia in foot. Rose’s comeback is still a long way off. The NBA Gods are trying to hand the division to the Bucks with all these injuries. Come on Bucks capitalize on this. 3) Kobe has now scored 30,000 points. 5th player in league history to do so. Here’s more of the Silver Dancers:
