CHICAGO -- A strong first quarter set the tone and the Chicago Bulls dominated the glass on the way to a wire-to-wire 103-87 victory over the Golden State Warriors on Friday at the United Center. Chicago guard Kirk Hinrich scored a season-high 25 points, knocking down 6 of 7 shots from 3-point range. This was his second 20-point performance in the last three games after not reaching that total previously this season. The Warriors had been on a roll recently, with home wins over the Oklahoma City Thunder and Los Angeles Clippers this week. The Bulls haven't always been great at home. This win gave them a 14-11 record at the United Center. "There's a good calmness, but also a readiness and sense of urgency at the same time," Hinrich said. "I think we kind of had that edge." The Bulls jumped to early leads of 12-2 and 25-9. Their advantage was in double digits from the 5-minute mark of the first quarter through the rest of the game. "I thought...
BEST OF MAXIM
That photo (via Marcus Thompson) is of Stephen Curry’s arm after the Warriors’ ugly loss to the Bulls Friday night. Did he get into a scuffle with a mountain lion on the way to the locker room? No, based on Thompson’s description, the gruesome scratch comes courtesy of Kirk Hinrich. The Bulls point guard gashed the Dubs from behind the arc (6-of-7 on three’s) and also evidently...
The definition of “more contact” for Derrick Rose, as Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau described the “next step” in the former league MVP’s ongoing recovery process is controlled games of two-on-two, CSNChicago.com has learned.
“He looked great. Remember how he used to cut through the lane? The way he used to cut through the lane and do the acrobatics,” described another...
Chicago Bulls center, Joakim Noah, couldn’t contain his excitement after being selected to his first All-Star Game. The 5th year pro is averaging a career best 12.2 points a game to go along with 11 rebounds and two blocks. It’s obvious Noah didn’t check with his editor or his publicist before tweeting out his acceptance speech.I can’t believe it… This has been a long journey...
Chicago Bulls announcer Stacey King is an excitable fellow and I imagine a joy for Bulls fans to listen to as they watch their favorite NBA team. King is known for busting out a cliched reference well past its expiration date, but is so beloved and admired for the way he can turn a phrase he has his very own soundboard, a la the classic Gus Johnson Soundboard from way back when,...
Chicago Bulls analyst Stacey King is certainly one of the more colorful, entertaining analysts in the NBA. With the game tied in the final seconds against the Pistons Wednesday night, Marco Belinelli scored the winning basket after an incredible hustle play from Joakim Noah. As the ball goes through the hoop, King flips his lid and shouts, "I LIKE MY MEATBALLS SPICY!"...
“Thanks for dealing with all my sh-t to Thibs and the whole staff,” tweeted 9th year pro, Joakim Noah, who was voted into his first All-Star game as a reserve for the Eastern Conference. An unconventional player with a unique personality, Joakim Noah gave a rather entertaining Twitter speech following the announcement to show his appreciation on being selected, in a way only...
Joakim Noah just missed a triple-double Saturday. The Chicago Bulls center was one-point shy, finishing with nine points, 17 rebounds and 10 assists. He added a steal and two blocks. He's been a top-20 player this season.
Jimmy Butler finally cooled off. In 45 minutes, the Bulls' small forward scored nine points to go with six rebounds and a steal. He's been much better...
Kirk Hinrich scored a season-high 25 points, hitting six of seven three-pointers in the Chicago Bulls' 103-87 victory over the Golden State Warriors on Friday night.
Nate Robinson added 22 points off the bench in the Bulls' third straight victory.
David Lee, the Warriors' All-Star selection, scored 23 points. Stephen Curry added 21 for Golden State, which shot 34.6...
Jimmy Butler is a must-own player with Luol Deng out. He's owned in seven percent of Yahoo leagues, and that's about to shoot up.
The sophomore filled up the stat sheet again without Deng (hamstring). In another 40-plus minutes (44 on Friday), Butler did some damage: 16 points (6-10 FG, 4-4 FT), 12 rebounds, two assists and a block.
In three previous starts, Butler...
Tweet Last week the starters for next month’s NBA All-Star Game were announced. Tonight we found out who would be the reserves for the East and West squads. Among those heading to Houston for the February 17 game will be Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah, who will be making his first All-Star Game appearance. [...]
