The Chicago Bulls played Wednesday’s preseason game without G Jimmy Butler, and there were fears that his knee injury was serious. CBS Sports is now reporting that the team and Butler received good news that the soreness in his left knee was a very bad bruise. Jimmy Butler had an MRI and it showed a bruised left knee. He’s receiving treatment and hopes to be back soon. — Chicago Bulls (@chicagobulls) October 16, 2013 There is no structural damage, so Butler won’t have to miss any significant time. Butler will miss some of the preseason, but there has been no official word on how much time that will be.
