The Chicago Bulls and knee injuries are almost synonymous.  Of course, there's Derrick Rose's no infamous knee injury, but there has also been Taj Gibson's sprained knee.  He re-aggravated the injury last night and will go for an MRI to confirm the extent of the injury.Nick Freidell of ESPN Chicago says that the Bulls and Gibson are hoping there is no significant damage to the knee, but Gibson confirmed it is the same knee he sprained back in February.  If there is a tear to the MCL, it would end Gibson's season.  A sprain would likely still sideline him until the playoffs."I've still got an MRI [Wednesday] but hopefully it's not as worse as before. But it was real painful ... it's similar. But it's all about how it's going to feel [Wednesday]. I hope there's no swelling. But that's what they said, the same injury, the same MCL sprain, but we don't know the [degree] just yet."Gibson has been a solid option off the bench for the Bulls.  He has just six starts this season, but he is still averaging 22.5 minutes per game.  That's enough time for him to score 7.9 points and pull down 5.4 rebounds per game.Gibson is a four-year veteran of the NBA.  In his career, Gibson has averaged 7.9 points and 6.0 rebounds per game.  The 27-year old power forward was drafted out of USC back in 2009. Gibson foul on LeBron upgraded, not the one you might think

After the dust settled from the Chicago Bulls ending the Miami Heat’s win streak last week, the focus shifted to the referees. LeBron James called out the Bulls and the refs for the amount of hard fouls he took during the game. He focused on two in particular, one where he got tackled by Kirk Hinrich on a fast break that looked more like a safety trying to take down a running...

Derrick Rose is “Close” to Returning, But Doesn’t Feel Quite Ready

Just shut it down D Rose. No one is going to hold it against you (well, maybe a few people, but they will get over it) if you decide not to play this season. It is clear, mentally he is not in the right mindframe to come back on the court, so what is the point? The Bulls are unlikely to be a legitimate challenger in the playoffs with or without Rose. Since it is so late in the...

Kirk Hinrich Ejected Vs. Wizards

Kirk Hinrich was irate Tuesday night after not getting a foul call when instead Nazr Mohammed was called for offensive interference on the tip-in. Hinrich was T’d up twice and tossed from the game against the Wizards with 3:19 remaining in the fourth quarter. The Bulls were already playing without Marco Belinelli, Joakim Noah, Taj Gibson, Rip Hamilton and Derrick Rose. The Wizards...

John Wall Thinks Derrick Rose Should Sit Out Entire Season

The NBA regular season is coming to a close, and unless Bulls point guard Derrick Rose pulls his own version of the Willis Reed, and tries to rescue the Bulls during the playoffs, Derrick Rose likely will miss the whole season. Wizards guard John Wall who missed sometime this season with a knee injury thinks Rose should indeed sit the season out according to ESPN.com. “I think...

BSO: 2013 McDonald’s All-American Game Wrap-Up From Chicago

As I stood in the lobby of the Chicago Marriott near the hotel bar after the conclusion of the Boys’ All-American game at the United Center, I was reminded of how young the players I had just watched were. While plenty of media types and adult family members flocked to the bar for drinks and exchanged pleasantries, most of the members of the 2013 McDonald’s All-American class...

- Randy Wittman: "There's Things For All Of Us to Show Down the Stretch"

Randy Wittman tells us that the Wizards have and will continue to play hard, not just while they vaguely remain in playoff contention, but more importantly, for the future. The Wizards managed to outlast a depleted, yet feisty Chicago Bulls team last night at the Verizon Center thanks to a "gutty" defensive performance late in the game. Yes, the Bulls did everything...
