According to Sixers GM Tony DiLeo we have “good news” on the Andrew Bynum front as he has been cleared to move into the next phase of his rehab. Riding a stationary bike is on the horizon and barring any setback Bynum might even dribble a basketball by January. Bynum in the last year of his contract he signed with the Lakers could get a big payday if he manages to step onto the court for the Sixers this season. Now if that big payday comes from Philly, that will be the much debated subject from now until he signs his next contract. Bone bruises and how long do they take to heal? With little real medical information coming from the Sixers or Bynum’s doctors, do a search on the subject you will find it can take a few days to a few weeks according to the MayoClinic.com for the average person I guess.  Bynum, who hasn’t had any action since the end of last season is moving on past 6 months of his “recovery” leaving many of us to think the worst. The worst, never to take the court for the Sixers this season being this fans second worst thought. The number ONE thought…..signing Bynum to a long-term deal that potentially will keep the Sixers average at best for the next decade. It is not often you get a shot at one of the best in the NBA but let’s think of the many MISTAKES made in the past by the Sixers. Take your pick, the trading of Moses Malone for Jeff Ruland being my all time favorite worst pretty much ruined the Sixers franchise for YEARS. This one though could be moved down to second on the list if the Sixers were to sign Bynum past this year. Forget all the encouraging words from DiLeo, Bynum is a bust. If he plays this season or not, the Sixers and fans need to move on and look to the future. That future is not with a 25-year-old that needs six plus months to recover from bone bruises.Similar Posts: Replacing Bynum, would Greg Oden be a good fit for the rest of the season? Bynum might be back in January if he can MAN up Signing Bynum to a new deal?
