Carmelo Anthony became possessed in the 3rd quarter displaying why he is a top-tier player on the offensive end, on a day where the New York Knicks bench was lifeless. In the wake of a winnable home game the Knicks can’t be proud, with this lackluster performance.
Anthony averaging 31.3 points per game, over the last three games, kept the Knicks within striking distance majority of the contest.
After shooting an air ball from three-point land, the Knicks starting power forward began to take defenders off the dribble. Matt Barnes and Caron Butler shared the task of guarding Anthony, to no avail.
Anthony taunted Barnes along the baseline, on the low-post all game; drawing fouls in the process. The Knicks star finished the night 9-9 from the charity stripe.
As a unit the Knicks didn’t shoot the three-ball well, but Anthony finished the night 5-11 from behind the arc. Anthony made his first attempt of the night, but launched four straight bricks after that.
