New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Detroit Pistons after suffering an injury to his right knee during Monday's win against Cleveland Cavaliers.The incident occurred in the first half midway through the second quarter when Anthony stumbled, fell to the ground, left the game and failed to return. Anthony claims he first felt discomfort in his right knee during Sunday's loss to the Miami Heat.Upon further review, it seems as though this whole situation could have been avoided if Knicks head coach Mike Woodson had allowed Anthony to exit the Cavs game and have his knee checked, per Anthony's request. But Woodson didn't oblige."Melo was hurting, and for him to ask me to come out of the game before he even took that spill made me realize that something wasn't right," Woodson told Stephen A. Smith on on 98.7 ESPN New York radio. "He's never, ever, ever hinted about coming out of the game. I play him too much in that regard. Melo is a trooper. He's a warrior.Woodson then added further justification for his decision."I should have," Woodson said. "But stubborn coach, I just didn't. We're down 22, I'm going to leave one of my best players in the game. Maybe I should have taken him out before he actually stumbled and took the fall. Again, I'm thinking the game. I'm thinking he'll play through it, he'll figure it out. But hey, he was hurting. He walked out after he took the spill and he didn't come back. That's not Melo-like.
