Carmelo Anthony did it again last night by dropping 34 on the Boston Celtics to lead his team to a 87-71 victory Tuesday night. His performance is just further proof that LeBron James is not the only stud in this league and may not run away with the MVP this year as expected. I know that voters are only supposed to look at the regular season when deciding their vote, and that last night's performance should not have an impact, but 'Melo went on one heck of a streak at the end of the season to become the scoring champ (which also means he had to be doing pretty good all season). I'm not crazy enough to think he could actually win over LeBron, but the man could get a few votes.

LeBron James makes a bizarre press conference fashion choice

After the Miami Heat’s game one victory over the Milwaukee Bucks, LeBron James wore a bizarre sweater to the post game press conference.  I guess if you’re the best basketball player in the world you can do stuff like this, but it can’t be recommended.  I hope his teammates gave him a lot of grief for wearing this hideous thing. [@BleacherReport]

LeBron James wears capri pants (PIC)

I’m not judging.  I’m just pointing out that LeBron James wears the same type of pants that your wife or girlfriend (or both) does. LeBron took some time to pose for this picture (which was posted to his Facebook page) after the Heat’s Game Two win. Like I said, I’m not judging.  But those pants look much much much better on my wife. Facebook

LeBron James in full playoff mode

MIAMI LeBron James is in full playoff mode. Well, maybe. The Miami Heat star said he has given up his cell phone to concentrate on the playoffs. But such a task can be tough in this era. Sideline reporter Craig Sager interviewed James for NBA TV following Tuesdays Game 2 against Milwaukee. He asked James about cutting off communication during the playoffs. I can use yours? James...

Such an Exciting Time to Be a Knicks Fan

By Charles R. Trimble III It’s such an exciting time to be a New York Knickerbockers fan. The Knicks hold a 2-0 lead over the Celtics in the 1st round, J.R. Smith was recently named NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year, and Carmelo Anthony is playing the best and most fearless basketball of his career. These things have directly led to the success of this year’s team. Even Coach Woodson...

Milwaukee must play perfectly to match Miami

To put into context the challenge any team faces in a seven-game series, just take a gander at Miami's regular season results. The Heat lost just four times in their last 41 games dating back to Jan. 27 - with one of those losses coming without LeBron James and Dwyane Wade. Any team that plans on knocking out the defending NBA champions must find a way to beat them four times...

Kevin Durant Says He’s Tired of Coming in 2nd Place

Anytime you are mentioned in the same breath as Larry Bird, you are great. Kevin Durant is a great player and one of the few SUPERstars of the league. He has a problem though and that problem is named LeBron James. LeBron has hit his prime and has a perfect team behind him to go on a run of championships. Only one person can stop him and that’s KD. It is easier said than done though...

Cavs want LeBron James and LaMarcus Aldridge

By now you have probably heard the news, the Cleveland Cavaliers have hired Mike Brown as their head coach again, after letting him go three years ago. Good for him, I do not think he is either a great coach or the abysmal failture that he was painted as during his depature from the Los Angeles Lakers. In addition to his report on that hiring, Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski...

Marc Gasol Named Defensive Player Of The Year

Marc Gasol beat out LeBron James and Serge Ibaka to be named the 2012-13 NBA Defensive Player of the Year.

SmallThoughts:Rants and Raves

Rants: Cleveland Cavaliers for selling their fans false hope that LeBron James is going to return after the 2014 season to play for the franchise once again. Dan Gilbert honestly believes sign Mike Brown to a 5 year contract is going to bring Lebron back to Cleveland. Seriously? Yes I know Lebron has openly floated the idea of returning but that is seen more as a P.R. move to make...
