image from: nba.com There has been a lot of talk this summer about next summer (as there always is in the NBA), and the future destinations of Knicks SF Carmelo Anthony and Heat SF LeBron James have been the center of this chatter. Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James have both stayed pretty quiet about this topic, but Carmelo Anthony has come out and made things a bit more clear about where his head is by saying that he has no intention on leaving the Knicks (As transcribed by Al Iannazzone of News Day): “I’m not going nowhere,” Anthony said… “That is one of the reasons why I wanted to come here to New York, just so I could take on those pressures and those challenges,” Anthony said. “A lot of people do not like to deal with the pressure. A lot of people do not know how to deal with the challenges they face. To me, it is everyday life.” If we take Anthony at his word, he is very happy with his present situation of having the entire weight of New York City on his shoulders. While failing to deliver a championship to the Big Apple may prove to be a failure for Carmelo Anthony, leaving New York City all together would be an even bigger failure. Plenty of great athletes have failed to deliver championships to their respecitve cities but have at least been applauded for sticking around and trying. Carmelo Anthony certainly would be wise to stay where he is at and try to make the best of the situation rather than fleeing for “greener pastures”. While he has gotten a hall pass for leaving the small market Denver Nuggets in hopes of finding better playoff succes, he certainly won’t get a second hall pass if he says he also can’t cut it one of the NBA’s top three markets. —Ben Parker: follow me on twitter @nba_lord    The post Carmelo Anthony Says He Has No Intention On Leaving The Knicks appeared first on Pass The Pill - Kings of Hoops.

Signs Pointing At A Chicago Repeat

from Nicholas L. Cotsonika of Yahoo,  Patrick Sharp is no LeBron James. First, he said it after the Chicago Blackhawks had won two championships, not before. Second, he said it in a quiet conference room at an NHL media event last week in New York, not in an arena at a pep rally like James once did in Miami.
