The New York Knicks Are Overrated

This has made me sick to my stomach all year long. Knicks fans, which happen to be the worst kind in the NBA, have continually bragged about how great their team is. Some even think they have a chance to take down the Heat, which may be more ridiculous than Carmelo stealing a first place MVP vote from LeBron. To start off, I will give credit where it is due, a 54-28 record along...

Carmelo Anthony thanks Gary Washburn for the MVP vote after ending atrocious shooting streak

Following last night's Game 2 win over the Pacers, Carmelo Anthony had this to say about the Gary Washburn voting him for MVP instead of LeBron "scandal."  Via the New York Daily News: “As far as the guy in Boston, I don’t know why he catches so much flak for that. He has the right to vote for whoever he want. LeBron won the MVP. Why is everybody so mad that he...

Barraza / WENN.com   After knocking off the Celtics, the Knicks are in a 2nd round playoff battle with the Indiana Pacers.  We figured now’s a perfect time to give you a look at Carmelo Anthony’s wife, LaLa.  Check out some photos: (click to enlarge) Wait a minute, that last one isn’t LaLa.  My bad. This has been another edition of WAGs Wednesday...

Carmelo Anthony throws down monster dunk on Jeff Pendergraph

There are few things that I enjoy more than poster dunks and during tonight’s Pacers/Knicks game two, Carmelo Anthony threw down a rather nasty dunk. It happened in the third quarter of play as Anthony got past David West and put down a nasty two-handed stuff in the face of Pacers forward Jeff Pendergraph:

Dan Le Batard votes Carmelo Anthony MVP, robs LeBron of unanimous vote

Le Batard really loves Miami. Which makes this weird. Via Deadspin, Dan Le Batard didn't vote for LeBron James for NBA MVP: deadsp.in/mRNt1SL — Deadspin (@Deadspin) May 6, 2013 Ok so when it broke this afternoon that LeBron received 120 out of 121 votes for NBA MVP, a witch hunt started to figure out who the hell voted for Carmelo Anthony. Now we know. It was the Miami...

Carmelo Anthony: Why is everybody mad LeBron James wasn’t unanimous MVP?

LeBron James won the NBA’s MVP award on Sunday, but he fell one vote shy of being a unanimous selection. The writer who did not vote for LeBron, Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe, wrote a column on Monday defending his decision to give Carmelo Anthony a first-place vote. Not surprisingly, ‘Melo doesn’t see what all the fuss is about. “As far as the guy in Boston, I don...

Video: Carmelo Anthony posterizes Jeff Pendergraph, Patrick Ewing approves

The New York Knicks blew out the Indiana Pacers 105-79 on Tuesday night, evening their second round NBA playoff series at 1-1. Both teams looked wildly different than they did in Game 1, and no one played better than Knicks star Carmelo Anthony. The 28-year-old Anthony scored 32 points, grabbed nine rebounds, dished out three assists and snagged two steals while adding one sick dunk...

Who cares if Gary Washburn voted for Carmelo Anthony?

LeBron James was named the league's MVP, and if it weren't for the Boston Globe's Gary Washburn, he would've been the first ever unanimous MVP. Heard about this yet? The story has been all over the news. Why? I have no idea. Sure it would've been kind of cool for LeBron and Heat fans if he was unanimous, but does it really make that much of a difference? LeBron...

Knicks use 30-2 run to pummel Pacers, even series at 1-1

Not much to say except that the Knicks have a superstar in Carmelo Anthony, and the Pacers do not. Carmelo caught fire in the second half en route to 32 points. The Pacers could not defend and could not score. A 30-2 followed and the Knicks turn a tight game into a 105-79 laugher in New York. The series is now tied 1-1 heading back to Indianapolis. The teams won't play again...

Boston Globe’s Gary Washburn Explains MVP Vote for Carmelo Anthony, Robbing LeBron James of Unanimous Selection (Video)

LeBron James won his fourth NBA MVP award in five years, collecting 120 of the 121 first-place votes. The only first-place vote that didn’t go James’ way was cast by Boston Globe writer Gary Washburn. He placed his vote for Carmelo Anthony of the New York Knicks. The Internet exploded with outrage when the announcement was made that James’ award hadn’t been a unanimous...

Dan Le Batard pulls a gleeful troll job over the lone Carmelo Anthony MVP vote

This weekend word got out that LeBron James received 119 of a possible 120 MVP votes, falling just short of becomign the first unanimous MVP in league history.  Immediately, the conversation turned to who the joker was that "robbed" James of the honor and possibly could have watched this season thinking LeBron was not the best and most valuable player in the league. ...

Carmelo: “Why is Everyone so Mad LeBron Didn’t Win MVP Unanimously?”

I honestly believe ‘Melo should just focus on playing and stay away from this type of thing completely. However, he decided to share his thoughts. Everyone knows the huge deal that was made when writer Gary Washburn admitted that he voted for Carmelo Anthony for MVP. The one vote, that cost LeBron James the first unanimous MVP [...]

Washburn Explains Voting For Carmelo Instead Of LeBron For MVP

LeBron James received all but one first place vote for the 2013 NBA Most Valuable Player award as Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe cast his vote instead for Carmelo Anthony. James joked in his MVP press conference that he bet a writer from New York voted for Anthony instead of him. Washburn is the longtime beat writer for the Celtics with the Boston Globe. "Firstly, when I...

Cops probing alleged gay bias attack by Knicks fans near Madison Square Garden

Police are investigating a possible bias attack near Madison Square Garden after the New York Knicks lost to the Indiana Pacers in Game 1 of their playoff series on Sunday. Nick Porto and Kevin Atkins were attacked as they were walking arm in arm down Eighth Ave. near the arena when a group of Knicks fans approached the men and began using anti-gay slurs, said authorities. ...

Shootaround: Near unanimous

Chicago Bulls vs. Miami Heat Game 1 -- 7 p.m./TNT LeBron James was quite clearly MVP. There really was no doubt about it. When I was on with 103.7 The Game in Lafayette, La., on Friday, they asked me if you could make any argument to vote for anyone aside from LeBron James. I told him you could make an argument for Carmelo Anthony perhaps . . . but it was not a good one...
