I've been quiet while our content partner, Tar Heel Fan, has given us great insight into the UNC's run through the NCAA tournament. Let's catch up on a few other things that have been going on around the ACC...
- One of the biggest stories going on right now revolves around a player that might not even play in the ACC. Top recruit, John Wall, is causing a stir on ACC message boards as Wall has NC State, Miami, and Duke among his finalists. Recently, Roy Williams tried to get involved but wasn't received well by Wall's AAU coach.
- Virginia has hired Tony Bennett, son of former Wisconsin coach Dick Bennett. The Bennetts are known for their methodical, efficient approach to offense. It will be interesting to see how well received this will be at Virginia, and how Bennett's system will match with the current personnel. Further, will this affect Sylven Landesberg's status on leaving early?
- Jeff Teague and James Johnson have announced their intentions to enter the NBA draft. Johnson will hire an agent while Jeff Teague will not. Neither is a surprise, and I'm particularly glad to see Teague not hire an agent. Unless Teague is lights out in some tryouts, he should be back in a Wake Forest uniform next year. The sophomore guard really struggled in the second half of the ACC season when teams started zoning the Demon Deacons.
- Leonard Hamilton gets a 6 year extension at FSU. Hamilton had a great year and will lose all-everything Toney Douglas, but has a lot left in the cupboard. Hamilton also brings in SG Michael Snaer who was a McDonald's All-American.
- We've run this story already, but over at NC State Brandon Costner has decide to enter the draft as well, while Trevor Ferguson announced his intentions to transfer.
- Jack McClinton won the college 3 point contest.
Here at SCACCHoops.com, we've been busy making changes to our system and we thought we would share a few of our development items with you...
- First and foremost, we have made our fantasy game FREE. As it stands, you should be able to go to our Create League page and create one without payment. We will allow both private and public leagues at no cost to our users.
- We have revamped our draft once again. The changes include a new pre-ranking system that allows you to define your picks prior to the draft and automate the entire process if you wish. Another change comes from one of our users in the past year which includes our chat functionality within the same window as our draft to make the entire process easier to use.
- We have a number of more changes on the way and we'll continue to try and keep you up-to-date.
As always, let us know what you think in the comments section and let us know if we miss any ACC News.
