I understand that the Cleveland Cavaliers and their fans are mad at LeBron James. LBJ was supposed to be the One; a homegrown talent that was going to take the home team to the top. But than he 'decided' to take his considerable talents to South Beach. If I was a Cavs fan or owner of the team I'd still be mad even though its been a few years. However, when you let animosity cloud your judgement--like the Cavs did in naming Tyrone Corbin the best No. 23 in team history--it cheapens the value of anything the team does. This is not meant to be a knock against Corbin., but lets take a look at the man the team is calling a better Cav than LeBron James: over the course of his 15-year career he averaged 9.2 points and 4.7 rebounds in 26 minutes played for nine teams started only four games for the Cavs played in parts of 86 total games in a Cleveland uniform over two stays with the team the first time around (32 games) he averaged 4 points and 3 rebounds o...

Cleveland Cavaliers website chooses Tyrone Corbin over LeBron James as the best #23 in team history

Recently, the fine folks over the Cleveland Cavaliers official website decided to create a list of “all-time Cavaliers by numbers one through 50″ and their original choice for the #23 spot was pretty interesting. Originally, the list had current Utah Jazz head coach Tyrone Corbin listed as the greatest Cavalier to wear the number despite LeBron James holding all the major Cavaliers...

So what if Andrew Bynum doesn’t play this season?

On September 18, it was announced that Andrew Bynum would probably miss the remainder of the season and is “nowhere ready” to playing basketball yet. So what? When the Cleveland cavaliers chose to sign the Sixers big man this offseason, they knew his recovery would be gradual (hence the incentive laden contract, though still costly, I realize). I believe they still have a good...

Mike Brown’s return to Cleveland

Mike Brown is seen as a defensive guru in the NBA, but what can he do for a team’s offense? In the 2008-09 season, Brown’s coaching helped the Cleveland Cavaliers to have a league best in opponents points per game, as well as a league leading 66-16 record. This is very different from what the Cavs have seen with Byron Scott at the reigns; a disorganized sight, to say the least...

Cavaliers Name Tyrone Corbin, Not LeBron James, Greatest Cleveland Player to Wear No. 23

The Cleveland Cavaliers are clearly still a bit salty over “The Decision.” The team’s website ran a series this week ranking the greatest Cavaliers of all time by jersey number. World B. Free, Zydrunas Ilgauksas, Kyrie Irving and Shawn Kemp were all among the honorees. Conspicuously absent from the list, however, was one LeBron James. The Cleveland Plain Dealer’s Mary Schmitt...

LeBron James: NFL superstar? At what position?

PhotoCredit: AP LeBron James is on top of the world, coming off back to back NBA championships, back to back NBA Finals MVP’s, and back to back NBA regular season MVP’s. What hasn’t he done? Just a few years ago many of his critics believed LeBron James just didn’t have it in him, he wasn’t clutch and couldn’t win a championship. LeBron has proved that theory to be...
