The Cleveland Cavaliers will be following what their head coach Byron Scott has labeled “NBA Protocol” as the “Cleveland Plain Dealer” reports that the team will keep rookie point guard Kyrie Irving on the sidelines this weekend as he recovers from a concussion he sustained earlier in the week in a loss to the Miami Heat. The 19-year-old who was taken by the Cavaliers with the number one selection in the 2011 NBA Draft will miss two games  as his team will host the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday night and then welcome the Philadelphia 76ers to Quicken Loans Arena on Saturday. The Association adopted a new policy for dealing with players who have suffered concussions at the beginning of this season. Players are now required to go through a multi-step program after being diagnosed with a concussion before they are given medical clearance to return to the floor.
