NBA 24/7 365:
Portland Trail Blazers
Zhejiang 113, Bayi 91: This game was close for a little while… basically until JR Smith decided to impersonate a flamethrower and knock down 11 of 15 threes on his way to 52–count ‘em–FIFTY TWO points! JR’s 52 are the new season-high for the CBA, topping Lester Hudson’s 50 from earlier in the year. I’ll just let the video do the rest of the talking here…
Beijing 99, Xinjiang 97: Beijing remains undefeated, but barely. In their second close call in the last couple of games, Stephon Marbury and company built up a 20-point lead only to let it slip away later on. Before I continue, let me just say that up until the exciting finish, this game was rather painful to watch. First of all, the officiating was very tight. The players clearly wanted to play a physical game, but the refs wouldn’t allow it at all. There seemed to be a foul called on every single possession. Also, I hope every Beijing game I watch from here on out is on the damn road, because the background music NEVER

I'd say J.R. Smith's knee has recovered quite nicely, wouldn't you?
Though I can't find an official box score (thanks Chinese censorship of the web... and also a severe language barrier), this video shows Smith going off in a very J.R. Swish kind of way for 52 points. I counted six 3-pointers in there, the last of which came off a spin move beyond the arc...

Chris ‘Birdman’ Andersen High as Hell in Vegas?
Nuggets executive Masai Ujiri would like to re-sign Nene and Arron Afflalo, but outside interest may land one or both elsewhere this season.
Our daily list of things you should know about that didn’t fit in our other posts. Who is the most coveted free agent not over 6’11? Arron Afflalo of the Nuggets, according to ESPN’s Marc Stein. He is restricted and Denver will match any reasonable offer. Brandon Rush made some tweets that would have gotten…
Naturally, everyone is making a big deal about Nene.
And people are pumped about rookie rebounder Kenneth Faried.
And Timofey Mozgov is probably going to crack the starting lineup.
So when it comes to the Nuggets frontcourt, a lot of folks might have forgotten about Chris Andersen.
But the Birdman’s back, too.
He arrived to Pepsi Center for an involuntary workout today, the...
The first Nugget in the practice gym today was Andre Miller, who had his first workout there since December of 2006, during his first time in powder blue.
The point guard was part of the famous Allen Iverson trade and returned to George Karl’s Nuggets this June, thanks to a draft-night trade with Portland.
One of the reasons Denver traded Raymond Felton for Miller was because...

Many NBA players who sought a paycheck abroad hedged their bets during the lockout by signing contracts with teams in Europe or the Middle East that allowed them to return to the NBA if the season was salvaged.
But for the handful of NBA free agents like Wilson Chandler, J.R. Smith, Patty Mills, Kenyon Martin and Aaron Brooks -- who bet against a settlement by signing to play in...
TMZ has the wild story of a man who stole a gun from Stan Kroenke, tried to kill himself, and is now facing a restraining order: “Stan Kroenke — the billionaire behind the St. Louis Rams, the Denver Nuggets and Arsenal football (the English kind) — says one of his employees stole a gun from him, tried to kill himself, and now he needs protection from the guy. Kroenke obtained...
The NBA announced today that five season-opening matchups will take place on Christmas Day (the Nuggets will settle for a “Seventh-Night-Of-Hanukkah” Opener).
The Nuggets schedule hasn’t been released yet, but it’s likely that the powder blue will have its first game on Dec. 26.
Meanwhile, the Christmas quintet is pretty cool. The first game of the season will feature former...
If this is your thing, Chris "Birdman" Andersen has loaned his defiled corpus to PETA for their "Ink Not Mink" anti-fur campaign. Today, per the Denver Post, he'll be handing out donated fur coats to the homeless for winter. Something tells me J.R. Smith wants one. More »
