It' pretty simple - stop the player from scoring the basket. However, it seems the Rockets forgot about this when they faced the Nuggets recently and Danilo Gallinari made the Houston defense look silly.
Off a missed shot by Houston's Chandler Parsons, Gallo snatched the rebound and was off and running. All who was left was James Harden who's defense was less-than-stellar in stopping Gallo. Pick up the foul at least Harden!
Check out Gallo going coast-to-coast on the Rockets for the big time jam.

CSN Houston Charlotte Bobcats rookie Michael Kidd-Gilchrist was carted off the court in Houston on Saturday night during his team’s game against the Rockets. Bobcats’ head coach Mike Dunlap said Kidd-Gilchrist was talking and moving his extremities when he left the arena in an ambulance. While defending on a fast-break by Houston, Kidd-Gilchrist fell awkwardly after contesting...
HOUSTON -- It was easy for Houston Rockets coach Kevin McHale to identify the stretch of basketball that was not to his liking on Saturday night. Also clearly recognizable: the player who carried Houston down the stretch. Rockets forward Patrick Patterson scored 14 of his game-high 24 points in the fourth quarter to lift Houston to a 109-95 win over the Charlotte Bobcats at Toyota...

The Houston Rockets spent plenty of time on the road and didn't enjoy a particularly successful January.
Perhaps a home game against the lowly Charlotte Bobcats on Saturday night will help Houston begin February on a positive note.
The Rockets (25-23), who played 12 of their 17 games in January outside Houston, opened 2013 with four straight victories as part of a 12-3 stretch...

Its well known that since being traded to the Rockets, Harden’s star has risen. In this latest ad from footlocker he questioned the shoe game of a member of his entourage and threatens to trade him to Kris Humphries. A very hilarious commercial in which two rising stars show a little personality
DENVER -- In a game in which they gave up 110 points, it was the Denver Nuggets' defense that was the difference. The Nuggets allowed Houston to shoot better than 50 percent for three quarters before clamping down in the fourth. Once their defense got going, the offense took over in a 118-110 win Wednesday night. Danilo Gallinari scored 27 points, Kenneth Faried had 19 and...
