MVN:
The Celtics' schedule was recently released, and the Celtics are set to play the Cavaliers for the first game of the season. After the schedule broke, the PTI crew was asked who they thought the favorites were for '09-10. Michael Wilbon said he had three teams that all had an equal chance -- the Lakers, the defending champions who re-signed Lamar Odom and brought in Ron Artest, the Celtics, who have made a big splash in signing Rasheed Wallace, and are reportedly going to bring back Glen Davis along with Marquis Daniels. The last team was the Cavaliers, who completed a swap to get Shaquille O'Neal. The deal was made in an effort to strengthen their low post game. They also said the Spurs and Magic were just behind, yet still in contention. In my mind, I still think the two teams are up there with the Cavs, Lakers, and C's. San Antonio has amazing depth, and the Magic have an incredible offense. Their firepower on the offensive end of the floor is capable of ripping apart any defense. Though, speaking of defense, they don't have much after they traded away Hedo Turkoglu and company (Courtney Lee, Rafer Alston). That may cost them come April/May/June. Also, I wanted to give readers the opportunity, once again. I know a lot of you out there are able to write, and I'm sure there are plenty of you that possess a passion in rooting for the Celtics. If you're interested, I'd like to see a 500-word (minimum) article relating to the Celtics (or pertaining to the NBA), discussing past, present, or future issues. I welcome Human Interest Stories, such as the one that I published about Bill Russell a few days ago, but I'd like to see the article be somewhat relevant as well. A recap of a game from 1947 isn't what I'm exactly looking for.Shoot me an email at Celticsfanatic@gmail.com if you'd like to cover rumors. This wouldn't require you writing a full story, but I'd like to see a bit of stuff from you, and I'd also like to know how much you'll be available to publish. Thanks guys! Apologies for the lack in posts -- there hasn't been much going on. Look for part two of that Russell series either today or Wednesday.
