In a Saturday matinee at the Garden, the Boston Celtics defeated the Toronto Raptors 107 to 89 in an Atlantic Division matchup. The Green were up 16 early and shot 74% in the first quarter but the Raptors hung around and ended up making it a closer contest, but the game never really felt like it was in any doubt. Rajon Rondo returned from his twisted ankle that kept him out of Thursday night’s game and in the first half today continued his streak of consecutive 10+ assist games now at 33 games; he finished with 20 assists. Jason Terry and Paul Pierce led the Celtics in scoring with 20 and 19 points respectively, but who stood out the most in my mind was Sully, he finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds and seemed to make big plays when it mattered. The Raptors leading scorers were Andrea Bargnani and John Lucas both with 15 points. In a surprising turn of events the Celtics actually out rebounded another team, 37 to 35 (skewed by garbage time) but hopefully this is a trend moving ...
