Olynyk knows the NBA won't be easy.
After three days in the Orlando Pro Summer League, Kelly Olynyk has Celtics fans drooling over the possibility that he's a superstar in the making. Personally I think we need to at least wait and see how his does this afternoon so that we have a four game sample of exhibition contests vs mostly non-NBA talent to judge him by.
It’s been said that from Kelly Olynyk’s flowing, golden locks comes an aura that can heal the sick.
Actually, I’m the only one who said that, but what’s another wildly ridiculous overreaction to the “O’Klynyk” he’s been putting on here in Orlando. And while we’re all having fun with the hyperbole while watching Olynyk’s play against a bunch of non-NBA competition...
Kelly Olynyk paused when he was asked if he recalled the last time he played four games in four days. He gazed towards the ceiling as he flipped through his memories. And then he shrugged and said “I don’t know.”
In their latest “Welcome to the NBA” moment, this contingent of wanna-be Celtics struggled through long stretches of their game against the Houston Rockets...
The title is a joke people.
Kelly Olynyk isn't Dirk Nowitzki, despite the fact that there are some resemblances in their games. It's an unfair comparison for Olynyk to be compared to one of the best players of this generation before he's played in a single pre-season game. No one in league history has has more of an unstoppable fadeaway than Nowitzki, and that shot...
Behind 21 points & 9 rebounds from Kelly Olynyk, the Celtics Summer League squad beat the Pacers, 76-74. The Celtics are back in action tomorrow against the Houston Rockets. Tip-off in Orlando is at 3pm EST. Check out some pics & GIFs via HoopChina. The highlight of which are a nice chase down block by Tony Mitchell, and Kelly Olynyk putting on another shooting “Klynyk.” Enjoy:
Olynyk on day one: 25pts, 7 boards on 9/12 FG.
Celtics rookies Kelly Olynyk and Colton Iverson brought out some nice kicks today, as did camp invite Phil Pressey. All three members of the C’s NBA Summer League team rolled with Nike today: Olynyk rocked the Kobe VII “World Basketball Festival” again, Iverson wore the Nike Hyperdisruptor & Pressey had on my personal fave...

The Boston Celtics may have found a gem in No. 13 draft pick Kelly Olynyk.
Olynyk, who was honored the 2013 WCC Player of the Year, has been extremely impressive in his first four summer league games. Despite the 7-footer averaging 19.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game, his basketball smarts and patience is through the roof.
The 22-year-old center...

Fans of the Celtics finally got introduced to the team’s new coach, Brad Stevens, over the weekend. He got off to a good start by saying all the right things. He dropped a “wow” when describing the idea of being hired as the C’s 17th coach. We also got a few nods to the history of the Celtics.
Danny Ainge praised Stevens, 36, and solidified that praise with a six-year deal...
I had a quick opportunity to catch up with new Celtics head coach 1-on-1. He’s a busy guy, but he was nice enough to carve out 5 minutes to talk to me about a few things like his first exposure to the NBA game as head coach, Rajon Rondo, Kelly Olynyk, and the one play in basketball that gets him the most excited.

Not to get too excited about summer league performances (because we shouldn't) but three games into the ongoing Orlando league and Danny Ainge is looking a lot like the Hamburglar with the steal that is Kelly Olynyk. In three games, KO is averaging a remarkable 19.7 points (on 56% FG, including 43% from 3FG), 7.3 rebounds and 3 assists per game in leading the C's to a 2...
Following yesterday's loss, the Boston Celtics bounced back in a big way this afternoon, defeating the Detroit Pistons 93-63. With the win, the Celtics became just the fifth team in Summer League history to knock off another squad by 30 or more points. Although it's just the Summer League, that's a pretty impressive achievement considering these guys have only been playing...
