at Indiana Pacers (12-5) at Boston Celtics (8-9) Friday, January 27 7:30 PM ET Regular Season Game #18, Home Game #11 TV: CSNNE, FSI, NBA-LP 752/753 Radio: WEEI, WIBC TD Garden Referees: Bill Kennedy, Olandis Poole, Gary Zielinski This is the 3rd meeting between these two teams. The Celtics were soundly beaten in both of their previous meetings, once in Indiana and once in Boston. This time, hopefully the outcome will be different. The Celtics are on a 3 game win streak, having beaten the Magic in dramatic fashion twice in a row, despite missing key players. I have to admit that at this time, I have no idea who will be playing and who won't. So, in line with my wishful thinking, I've included Ray, Rondo and JO in the starting lineups. However, we could see another game with Bradley, Bass and Pietrus, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I'm going to make a wild guess that Ray will be back but Rondo won't and I have no clue about JO. ...

Rondo could miss most of February

The Celtics have played extremely well as of late, but you have to wonder if the streak will continue if Rajon Rondo misses significant time while recovering from a wrist injury.

Rajon Rondo may not return until the All-Star break

The All-Star break isn't exactly right around the corner. It's a month away. One month is a far cry from what we've been continuously hearing from Rondo and the Celtics about the point guard trying to convince the medical staff that he's been ready to play all this week. This wrist injury might be more serious than we initially thought.

Boston Celtics Paul Pierce Has Made Rajon Rondo Expendable?

The Boston Celtics were 4-8 and struggling. The offense was lost most of the time as the Celtics failed to have any rhythm. The troubling part is the team failed to crack 80 points in a vast majority of the games after some wretched starts that saw the team fail to score even 40 points at the half. The offense looked like they were going to take another hit as star point guard Rajon...

What the Celtics comeback win over Orlando really means

The Boston Celtics looked like a team that should have been playing in an over-40 YMCA league instead of the NBA for the first half of last night's game against Orlando. Without Rajon Rondo, Ray Allen and Jermaine O'Neal and losing Keyon Dooling again in the second quarter, the Celtics were proving all of their national critics right by looking older than dirt, moving slower...

Celtics find some Magic of their own, comeback from 27 points to win 91-83

The Celtics defense was on full display tonight as they used their strength to break out a come from behind victory over the Orlando Magic 91-83. Boston over came a 27 point deficit in the second half led by Paul Pierce and rookie E’Twaun Moore whose three point shooting helped propel the Celtics. This is the second game in as many games against the Orlando Magic for the Boston...

The Orlando Magic Let The Monsters Live

So about a week ago, I had real hope that time had finally ran out on my least favorite basketball team on the planet, your Boston Celtics. They had just lost to the Suns at home, losing Rajon Rondo to injury in the process. They were 5-9, losers of 6 of their last 7, and even their five wins were weak, seeing how they had only beaten terrible teams (Detroit, Washington, New Jersey...

Recap: Pierce does it all in win over Pacers

Who needs Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo? The Celtics have now won four straight games without their starting backcourt.  Paul Pierce was the hero. How's this for a balanced stat sheet? 28 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks. The Truth had 17 in the 3rd quarter, asserting himself offensively as Indiana picked up their intensity. Chris Wilcox (14 points, 6-8...

Who’s Better: Kyle Lowry Or Rajon Rondo?

Just as we wrote in the Dwight Howard versus Andrew Bynum debate, normally you’d scoff at this comparison. But with the way this season is shaping out – there are definitely going to be a few highly-popular players who lose out on All-Star spots to lesser-known studs – Kyle Lowry and Rajon Rondo is a [...]

A breath of fresh air

With injured starters Ray Allen (ankle), Rajon Rondo (wrist) and Jermaine O’Neal (knee) in street clothes for the start of last night’s game against the Indiana Pacers, it was imperative for the reserves on the Celtics bench to help fill the void. Led by Chris Wilcox’s 14 points and 6 rebounds, both season highs, the Celtics got a huge lift from their bench in last...

Ray Allen, Rajon Rondo won't play tonight; Pietrus returns to lineup

No Rajon Rondo means that Avery Bradley should get the start at point guard again tonight. Jameer Nelson is probably crying in his living room as we speak. Bradley better keep his head on a swivel for a rock solid screen from Dwight Howard if he decides to do the personal full-court press again.
