The Boston Celtics beat the Miami Heat 100-98
CelticsLife Game Recap
I grade on a curve!
Kevin Garnett: 24 Points, 11 Rebounds
KG had another great game today, as per usual against the Heat. He was a presence down low, and really carried a major load for the Celtics offensively. He rebounded well, and played his normal stellar defense. He came up big in the clutch as well. Still great to see him going strong.
Jared Sullinger: 7 Points, 4 Rebounds
Sullinger's impact in the boxscore wasn't amazing, but he added a good deal of toughness to the game. He played some physical defense, but he didn't do as great a job on the boards as usual. It was a solid effort from the rookie.
Paul Pierce: 17 Points, 13 Rebounds, 10 Assists
Pierce had a great game today. He had a triple-double in Rondo's absence, and really guided the team emotionally. He did some tough work on the boards and played solid defense (although spotty at times). His shoot...

A torn ACL is a death sentence to any athlete. When a star in the league suffers that gruesome injury, all you can do is feel for them. It is a helpless feeling being that player, especially when they believe it is only a minor injury. That was the case for Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo, after he thought he had only hyperextended his knee during Boston’s double overtime loss...
Was going to wait until tomorrow to post this, but the hell with it. I love this video from Golden Hoops. This is a short clip entitled “Kevin Garnett: The Love For the Game”. It has the perfect blend of video & audio to capture the intense emotion and unwavering spirit of the man known as The Big Ticket.

Kevin Garnett gave us a great performance tonight, and it was unfortunately wasted. He rebounded well, shot well, and was only slowed down by fouls/minutes. He got gassed at the end, and his last two fouls were stupid...
Paul Pierce talked to the media today for the first time since that heart-rending post-game interview with Doris Burke on Sunday, and he had some revealing things to say about Boston’s mentality going forward from Rondo’s injury, and on his own desires to retire in a Celtics’ uniform. From WEEI’s Ben Rohrbach:Yes, I’m aware that Pierce wouldn’t flat out tell the media...
Paul Piece found out about Rajon Rondo’s torn ACL in a postgame interview following the Celtics double-overtime 100-98 win over the Miami Heat, and he was taken aback. Check out the hilarious bewildered expression which Paul dropped after hearing the news. It should also be noted that Pierce got his seventh career triple-double with 17 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists.

The Celtics are in the midst of their worst losing streak (six straight) since Kevin Garnett joined the team in the 2007-08 season. As exhibited by their double-overtime loss to the Hawks on Friday night where they blew a 27-point lead, this team is finding new and creative ways to lose. The prevailing buzz states that the C’s have hit rock...
Boston Celtics star Paul Pierce showed up for his pre-practice meeting with reporters carrying a basketball, which he bounced from time to time while answering questions.
Get used to it: Pierce will have the ball in his hands a lot more from now on.
Two days after learning that Rajon Rondo has a torn knee ligament that will keep him out the rest of the season, the Celtics returned...
Rajon Rondo is out for the season with a torn ACL suffered during the Boston Celtics’ loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Friday. Rondo never collapsed, fell to the floor, or needed to be taken off the court as if he had suffered a major knee injury Friday, so the news was surprising to many. ESPN believes it identified the play where Rondo got hurt. They showed it during the telecast...

Behind a triple double from Paul Pierce, the Boston Celtics came away victorious against the Miami Heat on Sunday in double OT.Paul Pierce, not knowing Rajon Rondo had been diagnosed with a torn ACL earlier in the game with the news being broken by Doris, Pierce was a bit shocked about the injury to the Celtics point guard.Video @jose3030
On Sunday, after a double-overtime win over the Miami Heat, Boston Celtics star Paul Pierce learned of Rajon Rondo's season-ending injury on live television. The expression that crossed his face, and the "Oh my God" he muttered as a first reaction, was what it looks like when a great team's present and future come crumbling down.
This is the end for the Boston...
The Celtics had a tough past week. Their losing streak extended to six games and on Sunday received news that Rajon Rondo suffered a torn ACL and would be out for the rest of the season. Things started off on a sour note in their losses to Detroit and Cleveland yet Sully put together solid performances, particularly at the Cavs as he finished with a double-double. The Maine Red...
I can’t even get my head wrapped around all of this. I’m still in a glass case of emotion. Paul Pierce’s face sums it up well.
But despite the depressing news of Rajon Rondo having a torn ACL hanging over fans like a dark cloud, the Celtics played one of the best games of the year, beating the Miami Heat in double overtime, 100-98.
The Green: Just the overall team effort was...
