Found November 13, 2012 on Celtics Life:
The Celtics had a pretty good team win against an injury riddled Chicago Bulls team.  This is not an indictment on the win, but how well they came together defensively.  The dreaded KG swoon did not occur.  When Doc took KG out of the game, the team did not fall apart. There is also Rajon Rondo, who is starting to find players in their preferred spots, with Jason Terry being the primary beneficiary. Boston now has a 4-3 record and we are beginning to see Doc and Danny's vision take hold.  They can come at you in waves. There is Leandro Barbosa and his ability to get his shot at odd angles. Then you have Rondo's improved trust in his own ability to shoot the ball. This can be a dangerous team in the post-season.  But, there are two glaring weaknesses that can and will haunt them.  Chris Wilcox is the only other 'big' besides Jared Sullinger who has a nose for the ball.  We are not including KG. because KG will do KG.  This is a vulnerability that Miami and other ...

Why doesn't the NBA credit assists on made free throws?

Rondo got robbed of an assist when Garnett got hit. Rajon Rondo's spectacular streak of 30 games with 10+ assists has led me to keep a very close eye on his ball distribution of late.  As he continues to climb his way up the charts towards the all-time record, I watch each game intently keeping track of his assist count. While at the Garden last Wednesday I noticed three...

Jason Terry puts on sick shooting display

Boston Celtics guard Jason Terry has never been one to shy away from the limelight.  Recently he had one of his shooting drills taped during practice.  He took between ten and 13 shots from each corner, each elbow and the top of the key.  In total, he put up 55 jumpers.  Yes they were uncontested and yes it was during practice, but he hit 50 of them, including 13 in a row to...

Rajon Rondo Injures Ankle in Celtics Win Over Jazz, Doc Rivers Doesn’t Expect Him to Play 82 Games (Video)

Doc Rivers didn’t seem overly concerned about Rajon Rondo‘s injured ankle following the Celtics’ 98-93 win over the Jazz. The Celtics’ head coach said he wasn’t expecting Rondo to play all 82 games anyway, so it might be wise to expect some rest for the point guard early in the season. The Celtics head to Brooklyn tomorrow night, so Rondo has a short window to heal the...

Taking Stock: Celtics – Bulls

After every game, we’ll take stock of how each individual performance affects the player’s overall value. Starters Offense:  20 points on a very efficient 10-16 shooting.  He hit 5 of 6 shots at the rim, and 5 of 8 from everywhere else inside the 3-point line.  A few of his turnovers were sloppy, but a few of his passes were spectacular. Defense:  He played the passing lanes...

Celtics vs. Bulls game preview

In a rematch of the most entertaining seven-game series I have been alive for, the Bulls and the Celtics square off in Chicago at 8:00 pm.   This should be the first real test for the Celtics since their opener against the Miami Heat and a test of team cohesion.  The boys from Boston have played and lost to some of the middle-of-the-pack teams in the NBA, this will be a good litmus...
