According to a report on Fox Sports Florida, the Celtics are one of 5 teams with interest in center Greg Oden. Boston joins Cleveland, Miami, San Antonio, and Charlotte as teams who have serious interest in the oft injured center. Oden was the first overall pick by the Portland Trailblazers in the 2007 draft, but missed his entire rookie season due to a knee injury. He played in 61 games for Portland in the 2008-09 season, averaging 8.9 point and 7.0 rebounds in 21 minutes per game. He played just 21 games in the 2009-10 season, averaging 11.1 points and 8.5 rebounds in 23.9 minutes per game. He hasn't played a game since and Portland waived him in 2012. Oden, who his still just 25 years old, has been working hard to rehab his knees and according to his agent, Mike Conley,Sr, he should be ready for the regular season opener but is doubtful that he could play big minutes right away. Conley offered that Oden is willing to work out with teams in July but will not do any contact in workouts. Miami appears to be the favorite to land Oden, giving him a chance to win a ring, and filling a need for a legit center for the two time champs. Cleveland seems to be next in line given the fact that Oden played at Ohio State. But, if Cleveland goes for a 7 footer with the first pick in the draft, they may no longer be interested. The Celtics could definitely use a center, a position that has been weak since Danny traded Kendrick Perkins in the 2010-11 season.  If they can remain under the luxury cap apron, they may be able to offer more for his services than the Heat, who will definitely be over the apron and can only offer the mini-MLE.  San Antonio, who should still be considered contenders,  might be another interesting spot for him , playing a year with Tim Duncan.
