This is the 4th and final meeting between these two division rivals this season. The Celtics lead the series 2-1. The Knicks won the first game of the season. In that game, the Celtics were without Paul Pierce and Sasha Pavlovic started and had to try to guard Melo. The Celtics won the next two games in Boston. The difference in all 3 games was just a total of 8 points so every game has come down to the final minute.
New York is closing out a 3 game home stand while the Celtics are finishing up a 4 game road trip and playing in the 6th game in 8 nights. Paul Pierce and KG didn't travel with the team to Charlotte and so should be rested and ready to play. Ray Allen is meeting the team in New York and is expected to play wit...

There was once a time where New York Knicks guard Jeremy Lin was the toast of the town and everyone wanted a piece of him. Now, Linsanity has died down a bit but that hasn't prevented one college student named Lina from William & Mary asking him to attend her senior formal.Check out this interesting plea for Mr. Lin:
The Knicks have been playing without 40% of their starting lineup since March 24th. Power forward Amar’e Stoudemire — an All-Star in 2010-11 — has been suffering from a bulging disk in his lower back, and point guard Jeremy Lin had surgery for a torn meniscus in his left knee on April 2nd.
To their credit, the team has managed to stay afloat in the Eastern Conference playoff...
via Sean Grande twitter:
"Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce did not fly with us to Charlotte. With Ray Allen out tonight as well, welcome to the No Big Three Era. Stiemsma and Pietrus will start with Rondo, Bradley and Bass. Doc on leaving Pierce/Garnett in New York: ”I had already told Kevin he wasn’t going to Charlotte..Paul was impromptu off the foot injury.”
I know that comments aren't as much fun to read when we lose, but these are worth it just to show how absolutely pathetic Knicks fans are. I've never seen so much complaining about the refs. Even the TNT announcers mentioned the fact that the Knicks were so physical that the refs could probably call a foul on them every time down. Yes, the Celtics shot more free throws...
According to Adrian Wojnarowski the Celtics were close to pulling off two major deals at the trade deadline back in March. One deal would have sent Ray to Memphis for O.J. Mayo and a pick. The other would have sent Pierce to New Jersey for Mehmet Okur and the Nets 1st rd pick this year. Following from Yahoo.com.
NEW YORK – As the NBA trade deadline lurched into its final hour...
Baron Davis missed the Knicks' game at New Jersey on Wednesday night because of a stomach virus and was replaced in the starting lineup by Mike Bibby.
Davis was feeling ill Tuesday and played only 18 minutes of the Knicks' 118-110 victory over Boston. He has been the starter since Jeremy Lin was lost to knee surgery, despite battling a hamstring injury.
Bibby played 27...
Paul Pierce had 29 points and a career-high 14 assists and the Boston Celtics clinched at least a tie for the Atlantic Division title as they held off a late charge by the Orlando Magic for a 102-98 win Wednesday night.
Boston (37-26) has a 3 1-2-game lead over New York (33-29). The Celtics have three games left and the Knicks, who beat the New Jersey Nets 104-95, have four.

In what might shock most people outside of Boston, especially after the Celtics went into the All-Star Break with a 15-17 record, the C’s clinched the Atlantic Division title tonight with a 102-98 win over the Orlando Magic. Going into the 2011/12 NBA season, it was generally accepted that the Carmelo Anthony-led New York Knicks would cruise to the division crown over a pretty...
Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Ray Allen was a member of the Memphis Grizzlies for 20 minutes:
As the NBA trade deadline lurched into its final hour a month ago, league sources say the call Ray Allen long feared had come: Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers was on the line, telling him he had been traded. Allen had been sent to the Memphis Grizzlies for a package including O.J. Mayo...
Pretty soon, Doc Rivers will leave people with no choice but to listen to him. He tried warning everyone that Avery Bradley was a gifted offensive player, and his words came to be true. He has also raved about the positive atmosphere in the locker room this season, predicting the good vibes would win the Celtics a few games they otherwise would lose. One of those games may have come...
Even without Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce, the Celtics were too good tonight for the Charlotte Bobcats. The C's won it, 94-82.
Avery Bradley (22 points, 9-14 FG, 2-3 3 FG) has my undying faith. When he takes pull-up jumpers on the break, or spots up in the corner for 3, I fully expect him to make the shot. Incredible.
Rajon Rondo (20 points, 16 assists, 6 rebounds...
