Celtics take the broom out the closet for the Nets (106-104)

The Celtics make their second season sweep with the Nets 4-0, despite Vince Carter's 33 points and a few last minute shots that just wouldn't fall. This would make Boston 59-19, one game away from winning 60, and keeps them standing at second place one game in front of the Magic who also won today. The C's came out in the first quarter still sleeping after a four day rest, and was outscored 21-31 by the Nets, but the real hero of the game was once again, Rajon Rondo, who scored 8 points in the opening, being the only Celtic to score. Rondo who dominated in every area tonight, went for his second 30 plus point game, finishing with 31 points off 10-15 shooting, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals. Rajon hasn't scored 30 or more points since he lashed out on the Suns for his birthday, scoring 32 in that game. But what would a star be without his supporting cast? Eddie House came off the bench shooting 3-4 from deep and finishing with 15 points, and Mikki Moore who hadn't missed a shot all night finished with 9 and 9 rebounds. On the defensive end Perk and Davis took some time to get hot, but better late than never. Perk (12) and Davis (8) who has been extraordinary since KG stepped out of the playing field combined for 20 points on the night and totaled 9 rebounds. The remaining members of the Big 3 were rather quiet tonight, which could attribute to the reason why the Nets were allowed 104 points. Ray Allen and Paul Pierce only combined for 22 points, Pierce scoring 10, Allen with 12. In other news, the injury list seems to be decreasing as Tony Allen made his way back to the court, playing tonight with no minutes restriction. Scal has been cleared for practices and is taking "baby steps" toward his full recovery. Scalabrine says "I've been symptom free for 8 days." which serves as a good sign as the Celtics take the turn for home into the playoffs. Leon Powe has also been practicing, along with Kevin, but neither 3 is said to be playing in games before the playoffs. With 4 games left in the regular season (2 at home and 2 on the road) the Celt's hope to dominate Dwayne Wade and the Heat for win number 60 on Friday.
