Many top-tier free agents have been making moves but this addition by the Minnesota Timberwolves could be seen as an under-the-radar move which could prove to make huge dividends.

Center Greg Stiemsma (restricted free agent) has decided to join the Timberwolves (offer is reportedly a multiyear deal believed to be near $3 million per season) and leave the Celtics despite given a qualifying offer of $1.05 million by Boston.

The addition of Stiemsma could prove to be a solid addition.

Minnesota waived Darko Milicic thus leaving the roster a bit depleted as far as size on the frontcourt goes but now with Stiemsma, Kevin Love and Nicola Pekovic, the Timberwolves will boast one of the better frontcourt trios in the NBA.

With Stiemsma, Love will be free to be much more effective offensively without him having to worry about rebounds, blocking shots and patrolling the paint. Last season, Greg averaged 2.9 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks in 55 games for Boston. And while those numbers may not grab you, Stiemsma is a shot-blocking machine and will instantly improve the Timberwolves' defense next season.

Combine Stiemsma's stats with Pekovic's 0.7 blocks and 7.4 rebounds (last season) along with Love's career 0.5 blocks and 12 rebounds and opposing teams will have their hands full offensively against Minnesota next season.

And despite dealing with late season injuries, Stiemsma is coming from a winning organization and will bring that championship spirit to Minnesota which desperately needs it as a possible team on the rise in the West.
