Hall of Famer and television basketball analyst Charles Barkley says the New York Knicks are in deep trouble with Amar’e Stoudemire. Barkley made his comments on ESPN New York 98.7, a day after the Knicks lost to the Charlotte Bobcats, and on the same day the team learned that Tyson Chandler will be sidelined 4-6 weeks with a non-displaced fracture of the right fibula. “You all in trouble with Amar’e,” Barkley said. “I like Amar’e as a person, but I don’t see him doing anything in the NBA, to be honest with you. I think he has lost his skill. He lost his talent. “He played the game on talent when he was younger,” Barkley added. “He played the game 100 percent on talent. And now he has lost his talent and he is in serious trouble.” Stoudemire, who signed a five-year, $99.7 million deal with the Knicks in 2010, finished with just two points, three

Charles Barkley to Carmelo: Pass the ball

Carmelo Anthony has turned some heads already early in this season. At one point, he said he could not wait for free agency. Then in another he said he would be opening his rolodex to try and get other stars to New York. And then in another he was getting beat by Derrick Rose at the last second in the first national TV game for the Knicks. New York is quickly becoming the forgotten...

Carmelo Anthony tips ball into Bobcats basket (GIF)

New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony scored 32 points for the Knicks in Tuesday night's home game against Charlotte, but also scored 2 points for the Bobcats by accidentally tipping a missed shot by Michael Kidd-Gilchrist into their basket during the fourth quarter. Anthony's mistake sums up the current state of affairs for the Knicks, who lost the game 102-97 and...

Carmelo Anthony says he been too passive during fourth quarters

Carmelo Anthony has never been shy about getting shots up throughout his career. He’s a great scorer who isn’t going to change at this point in his career. After last night’s game though, he said maybe he is being a too passive in the 4th quarter of games this season: “For myself, maybe I’m second-guessing myself as well,” Anthony said Monday after the Knicks’ practice...

Report: Carmelo Anthony Calls Players-Only Meeting With Knicks, Questions Effort After Loss to Bobcats

Everything went right out of the gate for the Knicks last season, when they won eight of their first nine games and shot nearly 42 percent from beyond the arc in the first month. The hot start helped them survive some lulls later in the season, when they endured a three-game losing streak and two four-game losing streaks en route to the second seed in the Eastern Conference. The...

Raymond Felton Apologizes to Knicks Fans, Tells Them to Not Panic

Knicks need to worry less about the fans more about what is happening on the court. But, Felton decided to cop a plea to the fans to forgive them for how they are playing so far this season. “The fans are not here in the locker room with us,” Felton said on The Michael Kay Show on ESPN New York 98.7. “They are not inside (knowing) what’s going on with this team. All I can...

Knicks' worst-case scenario worse than you think

I really want to believe that the New York Knicks can’t possibly miss the playoffs in the top-heavy but still eminently shallow Eastern Conference even if the freshly injured Tyson Chandler misses a full six weeks. I want to believe it for the Knicks’ sake. I want to believe it because the mood could otherwise get really dark in one of my favorite buildings on Earth. Really...

Tyson Chandler Injured in NY Loss

It was six and a half minutes into the Knicks home match-up against Charlotte when Kemba Walker drove into the key and tangled up with Tyson Chandler, a moment in the game many Knicks fans will not want to see again. Knicks' Chandler to miss 4-6 weeks with fractured fibula

New York Knicks center Tyson Chandler has a small non-displaced fracture of his right fibula and is expected to miss four to six weeks, the team announced Wednesday. Chandler left Tuesday's game against the Charlotte Bobcats in the first quarter after suffering the injury during a collision with Charlotte point guard Kemba Walker. Further tests to Chandler's injury taken...

Raymond Felton to Fans: “Be Patient With Us”

Is anyone in full panic mode about the New York Knicks yet?  It’s really early, so that shouldn’t be the case but this is New York; a city where people often have the mindset “what have you done for me lately” when it comes to their sports teams.  So a few doubters is normal. However, with the hype built around this team after their strong season last year is causing all...

Carmelo Anthony drains buzzer-beating three pointer against Bobcats

As previously noted on That NBA Lottery Pick, we love buzzer beaters and earlier tonight, Carmelo Anthony decided to show off his deep range for one against the Charlotte Bobcats. Knicks’ Tyson Chandler out 4-6 weeks with Fracture

New York Knicks’ center Tyson Chandler collided with Charlotte Bobcats’ guard Kemba Walker in the first quarter Tuesday night. Initially the big man was expected to be out of the lineup for 3-4 weeks with a knee sprain, but after further tests show a non-displaced fracture in the right fibula, the seven-footer will be out for 4-6 weeks. The tests do not show any damage to the...

Tyson Chander Suffers Knee Injury

Tyson Chandler injured his right knee tonight in the first quarter after colliding with Bobcats point guard Kemba Walker. Chandler was in tons of pain, he needed help off the court. The team says the initial x-rays were inconclusive and that he will go through further testing. "We'll know more tomorrow morning" #Knicks head coach Mike Woodson on @tysonchandler — NBA...

Knicks Have Players-Only Meeting; Melo Questions Their Effort

Knicks seem to be panicking themselves even though it is very early in the season. Probably a product of not just playing in New York, but knowing that Melo might be looking to move on if the wheels fall off. New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony questioned the team’s effort in a players-only meeting following a loss to the Charlotte Bobcats on Tuesday. “We shut the door...

Knicks Not Planning On Making Roster Move With Chandler Out

The New York Knicks are electing to not find an immediate replacement for Tyson Chandler, who is out four to six weeks with a broken leg. The Knicks have spoken to Jason Collins about joining the team, but they plan on re-signing Jeremy Tyler in December. Tyler is currently rehabbing. Mike Woodson said during preseason Collins’ “name came up’’ over the summer. The Knicks...

The New York Knicks need brittle center Andrea Bargnani to show stones

With Tyson Chandler shelved for 4-6 weeks with a right fibula fracture, New York Knicks coach Mike Woodson expects Andrea Bargnani to see “big minutes” at center. Acquired on July 10 in a trade with the Toronto Raptors, the 28-year-old Bargnani has struggled and averaged 8.8 points, 2.0 rebounds and 0.5 assists in four games as a Knick. Particularly concerning, the 7-foot, 256...
