Chicago Bulls center, Joakim Noah is pure chaos on offense and defense. His unique offensive qualities have already been mentioned on HoopStuff, but this piece is why Joakim Noah is the Defensive Player of the Year. Noah is 5th in the NBA in rebounds, 6th in blocked shots and 5th among NBA big men in steals, while the Bulls are 3rd in the NBA in points allowed, 4th in defensive efficiency, 2nd in estimated field goal percentage, 6th in field goal percentage at the rim and 2nd in shot attempts at the rim per game. All of these percentages and stats prove how effective Noah has been for the Bulls, because for the most part, he plays with Carlos Boozer down low, who is a notoriously poor defender. Noah has almost single handedly halted scoring at the rim and even though Taj Gibson is an excellent defender in his own right, Noah is on another level.
