Chris Douglas-Roberts, now with the Dallas Mavericks, hasn’t had an easy road in the NBA.  He gained the reputation of an immature player witha bad attitude. During the lockout, he played in Italy and when he attempted a return to the league this season, the only team to give him a callback was the Los Angeles Lakers.  They cut him a month later due to financial reason, but he is eternally grateful for that month, and the one player who mentored him and showed him “how to be a pro”, Kobe Bryant.  Over the holiday, CDR penned an open blog post on Tumblr expressing his gratitude: Then out of no where, the Lakers called. They wanted me to come in and earn a spot. Once I got that call, it was made up in my mind that I’d be a Laker…The very first day I was 1 on 1 partners with Kobe. And we were going at it. Sh*t talking…elbows were thrown. To my surprise, after that first practice Kobe went to media and spoke highly of me…Kobe continued to mentor me along the way… Then I got a call from ...

Are the Dallas Mavericks done for the year?

The Dallas Mavericks are only 2 seasons removed as the NBA champs. They were pretty much the “Cinderella team”  of the 2011 season after coming in kind of under the radar to take on the giants of the league and eventually beat the bad team from the east, the Miami Heat and get their vengeance from 2006. Then something happened, the season ended, the current bargaining contract...
