Rejoice and be glad - if you're a Michigan fan that is. Why? Well, Chris Webber, Maurice Taylor and Louis Bullock's 10 year long exile from any formal association with the University of Michigan is over. They can now be a part of the program again, but let's also not pretend like the welcome mat is just going to be rolled out or a parade in Webber's honor is in the works either.

Lest we forget, Webber was the biggest name in this case, accepting a reported $280,000 from booster Ed Martin (who gave the group over $600,000 in total) while at Michigan as a member of the Fab Five. Clearly his name is the biggest of the three and what happens moving forward is anyone's guess.

At least Michigan AD Dave Brandon is open to meeting with them all.

"I've never met any of those guys, and I am looking forward to meeting them," Brandon said late Tuesday night in an interview with The Associated Press. "If any of those guys are interested in meeting with me, that would be great."

Webber is the poster-child for both the best of Michigan basketball times and the darkest hours for the program as well and the door could be open for his return as he did show up to support the team this season in the national championship game, Michigan's first since the Fab Five era.

Perhaps the most interesting part in all of this is the steadfast denials by Webber over the years and he hasn't backed down much, if at all from this famous quote:

"I didn't do anything, so I don't feel sorry for them."

Maybe one day we'll all get to see the Fab Five back together again inside Crisler Arena. Sure, they were all in attendance at the Final Four this past season, but Webber was up in a Suite, separated from the other four. That's how sad things have been for the past decade.

Time heals all wounds, but for Webber it may be awhile before this one has the band-aid ripped off. Let's hope somehow this gets resolved for the better of the program and the black-cloud that has existed for the better part of a decade can fully be lifted with a meeting between Webber and Brandon.
