With Andrew Bynum now in town, them still having Tyler Zeller and with Tristan Thompson able to play center, they have more than enough at the position, so despite Varejao being a very nice starting center, his loss would not be felt too hard. It will also not cause friction with the team if Bynum is healthy and forced to play behind Varejao, which is another plus, as Bynum has superstar talent, but is immature and would not take kindly to being a backup and this would help them avoid any locker room problems with their All Star center.
