It's deja vu all over again for Clippers

LOS ANGELES Stop us if youve heard this one before Its a familiar story with a familiar finish, one in which the Clippers starters yield to their bench in a tight game and spend the fourth quarter acting as cheerleaders from their courtside seats. In their first 20 games of the season, the Clippers have become used to this script. It has helped them to a 14-6 record and six consecutive...

Clippers unbeaten since Griffin questioned rotations

Losing streaks can do nasty things to teams. Losses, particularly on a team that expects to compete for championships, bring frustrations to the surface and a search for what is going wrong. The Clippers snapped a four-game losing streak two weeks ago with a victory against the Timberwolves. That losing streak though began testing Los Angeles and the team's role as contender...

Clippers bench comes to the rescue again

LOS ANGELES Late Saturday morning, Phoenix Suns coach Alvin Gentry stood outside the visiting team's locker room at Staples Center and declared the Clippers' reserves the best bench in the NBA. "I don't think it's even close," he said. By Saturday afternoon, Gentry and the Suns saw it firsthand. They were mowed down by a third-quarter rout at the hands...

Bargnani dealing with struggles, trade rumors

Andrea Bargnani has spent his whole career with the Toronto Raptors. Since being selected with the first overall pick in the 2006 draft, he’s continued to improve year after year. He’s had his injury issues, but the fact that his stats kept getting up had to be encouraging. But his scoring numbers peaked in the 2010-11 season where he averaged 21.4 points per game. This season...

POTD 12/9/12: Blake Griffin on Linas Kleiza

Not much for choices from Sunday’s six-game slate, but Blake Griffin did scale the back of Linas Kleiza for a pretty nasty follow jam off of a Chris Paul miss.  The fact that Kleiza wasn’t looking takes away from the play as a posterization, but with no other nominees, Griffin wins by default. It’s a shame Blake didn’t convert on his left-handed attempt over Jonas Valanciunas...
