The Los Angeles Clippers came into the 2013 offseason with more then a few gaps to fill. After the signing of former Charlotte Bobcats 7 footer Byron Mullens, those gaps are now few are far between. The Clippers improved their depth considerably at the guard position this offseason, but the lack of depth in the post has been a concern within the organization until now. Before the acquisition of Mullens the Clippers had 3 bigs under contract (the third being Ryan Hollins who is not exactly the ideal big man off the bench). Not only did the Clippers add a third 7 footer in Mullens, but they also brought in one with the ability to stretch the floor and shoot the three ball. Doc Rivers’ Celtics saw this on full display hand last season when Mullens dropped 25 points including 4 of 5 shooting from behind the arc. Mullens gives the Clippers the option of spreading the floor of the bench, allowing themselves to have multiple 7 footers on the floor at the same time. Mullens’ ability to shoot from the outside provides the Clippers with yet another shooter off of the bench as Mullens joins the ranks of Jamal Crawford, Matt Barnes, and Reggie Bullock.
The Clippers got Mullens at a very reasonable two years $2 million. The contract includes a team option the second year. Comparative to deals for other players this offseason, such as Zaza Pachulia (3 years 16 million), this is a steal for LA. Pachulia averaged 5.9 points and 6.5 rebounds per game opposed to Mullens’ 10.6 points per game and 6.4 rebounds. The Clippers add a much needed quality piece off the bench while keeping frugal owner Donald Sterling pleased in the process.
Mullens is the fifth pick-up by the Clippers this offseason. Along with that, Mullens is the tenth player below the age of 30 currently on the roster, demonstrating the Clippers desire for the creation of a young core that can make multiple runs at an NBA title.

Thanks to the World Wide Web, we learn some interesting things about NBA players every day and thanks to Deadspin, we now know that Los Angeles Clippers guard J.J. Redick is a huge watch collector.
J.J. posts on a forums website called “Paneristi Public Forum” (Paneristi is term used to describe someone who likes Panerai-brand watches) and below is one of his posts from January...
Lamar Odom should talk to JJ Redick about getting one of those contracts together.
His stripper mistress is just not going to let this go and the way she is talking she has no fear of any type of lawsuit or legal threat from Lamar.
That leads me to believe she is telling the truth. One of these days the athletes will learn they have to be more careful about which women they decide...
Back in the day before social media took off, a sidepiece knew her place was in the shadows on mute. But that era is gone and this new breed of mistresses jump at any and every opportunity to expose the athletes they claim to have had some deep meaningful relationship with. Lamar Odom’s alleged stripper girlfriend recently revealed more dirty deets of her year-long “relationship”...
JJ Redick has been in the NBA for seven years so he knows his way around contract negotiations. Apparently off-the-court contracts involving his lady friends aren’t out of bounds either.
Redick reportedly was involved in a nasty legal snarl with Orlando model Vanessa Lopez early in his career and now documents are being leaked despite a previous confidentiality agreement.
Newly minted Clipper JJ Redick is a little upset that the details of his confidentiality contract with Vanessa Lopez were leaked to the public. Redick took to Twitter to explain that he never got Vanessa Pregnant.
Ok, A. I don’t think anyone with a decent reading comprehension level thought that. The abortion aspect was just a clause. Clearly this was a jump off protection contract...
J.J. Redick took to Twitter to state that the 2007 abortion contract between him and model Vanessa Lopez never even existed in the first place.

Chris Paul has changed his mind and is leaning toward playing in the 2016 Olympics.
The Los Angeles Clippers point guard who was on the 2008 and 2012 gold medal teams said he was leaning heavily toward bypassing the 2016 Games -- until Duke's Mike Krzyzewski announced he was returning to coach the team.
