Los Angeles Clippers
Mark L. Baer-USA TODAY Sports
The rumors regarding the Boston Celtics trying to trade Kevin Garnett continue to swirl around as the trade deadline approaches. Yahoo! Sports is reporting that the Celtics have been in trade talks with the Los Angeles Clippers, in which they would deal Garnett for DeAndre Jordan and Eric Bledsoe.
Although the deal is not certain, sources say that both teams have been in talks extensively towards the possibility of this deal working out.
However, the whole trade for it to be possible hinges on the Big Ticket himself. With a no-trade clause, he can pick if he wants to accept the trade or not to L.A. There’s a possibility of it happening, considering that Clippers veteran guard Chauncey Billups is very close with the 15-time All-Star.
Los Angeles has engaged in trade talks regarding Bledsoe ever since it was known that Chris Paul will likely sign a long-term deal with the Clips coming this off-season. With the franchise getting more and more confident of Paul staying, according to sources, dealing Bledsoe may be the move to make.
Another reason why Los Angeles is dealing Bledsoe is also because of Billups himself. Billups’ return causes Bledsoe’s minutes to be cut. Bledsoe is an odd man out here, but he can definitely find a nice home in Boston this season running the show at point, especially since Rajon Rondo is out for the season.
The Clippers also get a nice advantage with Garnett and Blake Griffin in the frontcourt. Garnett helps spread the floor at center and can definitely open up some lanes for Griffin to make plays. It would be a hard combination to stop, and it leaves CP3 with more weapons to pass to.
This trade can also help Boston, as they get two young players that can help them for the future. The Big Three era is already over ever since the Rondo injury occurred. This may be the last season we see Boston as a playoff-worthy squad with Garnett, Paul Pierce and Rondo in there. Garnett and Pierce are aging, and they can see themselves new homes this off-season.
I can see Garnett doing this trade to help for the sake of the Celtics, who can move on and rebuild. Having Bledsoe and Jordan can create a new Big Three in Boston. Blesdoe and Rondo can easily be the new backcourt of Boston come next season, with Jordan and Jared Sullinger or Brandon Bass in the frontcourt.
The deal makes sense, and it can easily happen. It all just matters if Garnett wants to go there or not.

Much was made of the supposed “beef” between Kevin Garnett and Carmelo Anthony earlier this season. STAYING IN BEANTOWN
Kevin Garnett has been mentioned in trade conversations, but the veteran All-Star forward says he will not waive his no-trade clause.
Just five weeks ago, Carmelo Anthony hated Kevin Garnett. We all know the story; Anthony and Garnett were going at it in a tightly contested game back on Jan. 8. It got chippy and the two started jawing and before long, Garnett went below the belt like he normally does and allegedly said that Anthony’s wife “tastes like Honey Nut Cheerios.”
Now I’m not married but if...
Apparently ganging up on Craig Sager with Carmelo Anthony Saturday at All-Star practice wasn’t enough. In a sideline interview with Sager during the All-Star game Sunday, KG clowned the TNT reporter’s attire (photos) again:

I love how they keep on wanting Bolt to give props to other teams and players, but it's all about Kevin Garnett and the Celtics for the world's fastest man.
Big thanks to Celtics Lifer Tia Compenser for the video tip.
As it often happens with trades in the NBA, it’s not so much about the actual players who might be traded as it is contingent on which player outside of the trade talk is staying or leaving a team.
For instance, trade rumors are currently heating up regarding the Celtics Kevin Garnett going to the Clippers in exchange for Eric Bledsoe and DeAndre Jordan.
However, this possible...
The Herald’s Mark Murphy offers this update on the Celtics need for a guard:
The Celtics are reportedly on the verge of signing a guard to a 10-day contract — a hedge in case a more desirable player is available in another two weeks — though management was still sifting through possibilities.
