USA Basketball announced today what we told you late Monday night - on twitter - that former Indiana University and North Central High school star Eric Gordon and Pacers guard Danny Granger are among the 15 players who made the cut with USA Basketball.
The 6-3 Gordon, heading into his third year with the Los Angeles Clippers, and the 6-8 Granger will be part of the final group that will train Aug. 10-16 in New York. The 12-man roster for the USA's World Championship team will be selected from this group.
I asked USA coach Mike Krzyzewski about both players during today's announcement.
"Gordon, the more comfortable he became, the better he was," Krzyzewski said. "In the open court, he's so strong going to the basket. In the halfcourt, he's an outstanding shooter in addition to being a driver.
