Dwyane Wade, who sat out the Heat's first preseason game on Monday for rest purposes, said he plans to play in Thursday night's exhibition game against the Pistons, according to ESPNs Michael Wallace.
The Heat practiced Wednesday at AmericanAirlines Arena before leaving for a back-to-back set that starts in Detroit and continues against theCharlotte Bobcats in Kansas City. Wade wouldn't rule out playing in both games, but said Wednesday he will continue to assess his status day by day.
"I expect to play against Detroit, and then I'll take it from there," Wade said. "That's the way I'm approaching this."
This news comes on the same day after another report from Wallace, which Wade said the following in:
“I'm not where I want to be, but I'm better at this point this season than I was last year,” Wade said, referring to the 2012 offseason when he underwent left knee surgery. “I'm not ready for Game 1 (again...

There is a swagger about the Miami Heat. They don’t seem too cocky, but don’t seem to have any worries about this upcoming season either. Going for a 3-peat can be a distraction and the media isn’t helping, but so far the Heat as a team and organization are handling it well.
To some people preseason isn’t that big of a deal because the star players don’t play a lot and...
