No guard has been selected to play in the annual All-Star Game since Michael Jordan 28 years ago. Damian Lillard would like to end this streak, and he’s making a good case for it this season.
Damian Lillard, who is averaging more than 18 points and six assists per game, is out to do something that eluded the likes of Gary Payton, Jason Kidd, Allen Iverson, Kobe Bryant and Derrick Rose. No guard, in fact, has been selected to play in the annual All-Star Game since Michael Jordan 28 years ago. [Lillard], the Portland Trail Blazers’ rookie point guard, would like to end that streak. He’s made a growing case for himself this season, most recently with a 37-point performance against the Golden State Warriors. “That says everything when Michael Jordan was the last guard to do it,” said Lillard, who was born in 1990. … Lillard isn’t holding his breath. “The league is about seniority sometimes,” Lillard said.

After winning 10 of their last 13 games, the Portland Trail Blazers ran in to a bit of adversity this past week. With three out of their four games at home during the week, Portland was hoping to build on its already impressive season record.

JJ Hickson makes $4 million annually, averaging a double double (12.2 points, 11 rebounds) , well regarded by fans, and appreciated by teammates. Sounds like a keeper to me. Here’s the catch. He’s also an unrestricted free agent by the end of the season, which means Portland is in a tough situation. The Blazers love Hickson, but other league executives...

If the season ended today, the Portland Trail Blazers would be in the NBA Western Conference Playoffs. At the beginning of the season, not too many would have guessed this to be possible. With that said, there is of course a lot of season left. But this team has demonstrated, grit, poise, and the will to win. If they continue to play this scrappy brand of basketball, there is no...

Check out Portland Trailblazer shooting guard Will Barton as he goes coast-to-coast to block what seemed to be an easy layup from Oklahoma City Thunder guard DeAndre Liggins. Not only did the block stop Liggins from scoring, it caused the ball to get stuck between the basket and the rim. The Thunder went on to [...]
Coming off a big win against the Miami Heat that saw them cement themselves as playoff contenders in the Western Conference, the Portland Trail Blazers tried to rally against the Golden State Warriors after a slow start but came up a little short in a 103-97 loss.
The loss to the Warriors snapped Portland’s four-game win streak that saw them become one of the bigger...
The Portland Trail Blazers have been competitive in each of their last three games but they've been on the losing end each time.
A visit from the lowly Cleveland Cavaliers might give the Blazers a chance to avoid a season high-tying fourth consecutive defeat Wednesday night.
