Just like that, it was over. The Celtics' run to the Eastern Conference Final may have seemed improbable back in February and March when it was a fight just to stay above .500. In the end, though, the C's turned themselves into a legitimate contender to win the East, taking the Miami Heat all the way to seven games, with a lead in the fourth quarter to boot. It wasn't meant to be, however, as the Heat were able to storm back and extinguish the Celts' flame. Now Celtics president Danny Ainge has to figure out which direction the team...

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.
“First, he has a lot of respect for Doc (Rivers, the C’s coach),” the source said. “I’m not sure there is someone else he could play for at this point. He’s very loyal. But he’s also very proud. As...
Celtics center Greg Stiemsma, who spent the last half of the season dealing with a foot injury that limited his minutes, his production and required him to wear a massive walking boot when not playing basketball, will head into free agency this summer. However, he made it no secret that he'd love to be back in Boston next season. (Boston Herald)
Stiemsma will be taking...
Check out the video vault for more Celtics videos. Thanks ThunWest for the link.
If you didn’t trust Sam Cassell, who shared the exact same news earlier this week, maybe you can believe Kendrick Perkins: Kevin Garnett is conflicted about retirement, but won’t play for anyone except Doc Rivers if he returns for an 18th NBA season. (CBS Sports)Despite the comfort zone Perkins has found in the heartland, you get the sense a piece of him died when the Celtics...
The Celtics tweeted out this video a little while ago. It’s a nice thank you to the fans.
Not gonna lie… I’m a little upset that I’m posting this today and not in a couple of weeks with some clips of the parade. I’m suddenly not as ok with things as I was earlier today.
I guess that’s what “denial” is all about.
You can now officially add Brandon Bass to the list of free agent targets for the Celtics.
While there has been considerable speculation as to what Bass will do this summer, his agent tells CSNNE.com that the 6-foot-8 forward plans to opt-out of the final year of his contract, and thus test the free agent waters.
However, all indications are that Bass is hoping...
One of the most interesting teams to watch this offseason will be the Boston Celtics. They have to face the decision of bringing back their aging veterans or letting their stars go and starting over. They were within one win of the NBA Finals, so it would be hard to make the argument that the current team they have doesn’t work, but will the wear and tear of another year push them...
One third of the Boston Celtics’ “big three” will go under the knife on Wednesday evening. Ray Allen will undergo surgery to remove bone spurs from his right ankle.
An injury that caused Allen to miss 15 regular season games and two playoff games against the Atlanta Hawks in the first round of the eastern conference playoffs.
These nagging ankle issues were also the cause...
It wasn’t that long ago when Danny Ainge brought in Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen to join Paul Pierce, leading the Celtics to their first NBA Championship in 22 years. That season was as fun as they come, and the rest of the four years wasn’t four behind. That trio might have played its last game together, so take a look at this video and remember that first championship run.
The Boston Celtics are looking to package their draft picks — they hold #21 and #22 — together to attempt to move up in the draft as reported by Sam Amico. On top of an active off-season on the market, the Celtics are said to be looking to package their picks and move up [...]
Ric Bucher was on Dennis and Callahan this morning. Bucher called himself a "big fan" of Jeff Green. It's uncertain whether Jeff Green will be willing to sign with the Celtics to come off the bench. In order to free up a starting spot for Green, Bucher floated the idea of a Paul Pierce for Pau Gasol trade, which he claims several GM's have said they'd...
I was a guest on WGBB radio New York the other night to discuss the Boston Celtics Big Three and a bunch of other topics. Fast forward to the 20-minute mark at this link if you want to hear my segment.
Today, Boston Celtics forward Brandon Bass and Brooklyn Nets forward Gerald Wallace opted to be free agents this upcoming summer.
Bass has said he would like to return to Boston, where he started, after being traded from Orlando for Big Baby Davis before the season started. Wallace’s stay was brief, as he was acquired from Portland in an attempt to persuade point guard Deron Williams...
Kevin Garnett has been fined $25,000 for failing to make himself available to the media following Boston's 101-88 loss in Game 7.
Lost in the subplots of one of the most highly anticipated NBA Finals in years, is a side-story that stretches from Lake Eerie to the Northwest.
The Seattle SuperSonics no longer exist and the Cleveland Cavaliers were once again irrelevant in 2011-12 despite a promising rookie campaign from Kyrie Irving. None of that matters. Starting Tuesday Night each city will have...
