Although he is dealing with inflammation in his left foot that is still causing pain, Kevin Garnett should be returning soon.  At least if president of basketball operations Danny Ainge has a say, KG will be back.  Ainge said in a  recent radio interview that Garnett's two weeks off should be more than sufficient time for his injury to heal.According to Greg Payne of ESPN Boston, Ainge is not concerned about Garnett requiring surgery.  He says Garnett's injury is not as severe as the injury the perennial All-Star suffered in 2009.  In 2009, Garnett ended up requiring surgery. "What we're doing is we're doing what we think is best for KG's long-term health, and what's best for the team," Ainge said. "Usually it goes hand-in-hand, what's best for the player, and his future, is usually what's best for the team as well. But I don't know if KG could play tonight if tonight was a Game 7 of the NBA Finals. My guess is he probably could."Garnett has been nicked up a bit this season, but this injury is the first one all year to cause him to miss significant time.  He has managed to play through most of the other pain and still be productive.  However, this may be Garnett's last season, so it make sense that he would want to be as healthy as possible for the playoffs and for one final run if he chooses to retire.Garnett has averaged 14.9 points and 7.8 rebounds per game this season.  The production, while solid, has been a significant drop-off verse his career numbers.  In his career, Garnett has averaged 19.1 points and 10.5 rebounds per game.
