So far the MVP of this year’s NBA Finals has been Danny Green, Yes Danny Green. In Game 3 Green was part of NBA history. As a team the Spurs hit 16 threes, 7 of which came from Green. Green was 1 off the NBA Finals record of 8 three pointers in a game. Not bad for a player that was cut 3 times during his career. Green is 12 of 14 his last two games behind the three point line. So far in the finals Green has made 15 three pointers that is more than any Spurs player in a final. Robert Horry had 15 in 2005. Through 3 games Green is outscoring LeBron James and Dwyane Wade. Green has 56 points, while James has 50 and Wade has 43. Green is not only playing great offense but solid defense also. He is helping control James. Last game he came up with a huge block on James that lead to a Gary Neal three pointer right before half. “All of my teammates and Pop, they do a great job of encouraging me. They continue to tell me to shoot the ball. They continue to tell me whenever I’m open, to let...

Danny Green Insists ‘Something’s Not Right’ With Dwyane Wade, Downplays Spurs’ Defensive Job on Heat Star

Danny Green certainly isn’t cocky, which is surprising, given his lights-out shooting thus far in the NBA Finals. Still, the Spurs guard, who shrugged after Game 3 that his team’s success in reining in LeBron James has as much to do with James “stopping himself” as with anything the Spurs have done, stayed on the humble train on Thursday. Green was asked about his (and his...

The enemy of my enemy is my friend. The San Antonio Spurs are not the most interesting or exciting NBA team around (and Spurs Coach Gregg Popovich likes it that way).  They’re not polarizing like the Miami Heat. People tune in to see them fall. And one of the keys to making the Heat fall is Spurs forward Danny Green. Danny Green has been a hero for the Spurs this NBA Finals, and...
