Warriors’ David Lee went down early in the fourth quarter after he drove to the basket, was fouled by JaVale McGee, and landed awkwardly. After writhing in pain and grabbing his right thigh, Lee was able to knock down two free throws but was then forced to leave his first career playoff game as it appeared he couldn’t even walk on his own.
According to Marcus Thompson, Contra Costa Times:
“Ahhhh, I felt a pop,” Lee could be heard saying on the video of the injury.
He was knocked out of his first career playoff game early in the fourth quarter. The preliminary diagnosis is a strained right hip flexor.
X-rays taken Saturday night were negative. Lee is scheduled to have an MRI on Sunday, which will determine the severity of his injury.
