David Lee left the Warriors’ playoff opening loss to the Nuggets on Saturday with an apparent leg injury in the fourth quarter. Lee had trouble running back up the court after falling awkwardly on his right leg under the basket.
The Warriors said he suffered a right hip flexor strain. He didn’t return to the game and finished with 10 points on 4-of-14 shooting and 14 rebounds.
According to NBA.com’s Scott Howard-Cooper, X-rays on the forward were negative. He’s scheduled for an MRI on Sunday. Lee’s status for Game 2 should become a little more clear then.
The Warriors have two days off before Game 2 on Tuesday.

For the Golden State Warriors success is not something they are used to. In the last 19 seasons the team has made the post season one other time, in the '06-07 season. Otherwise you have to look back to the 1993-94 campaign--when Chris Webber was Rookie of the Year.
After a solid season this year the Warriors were looking to take advantage of a Nuggets team that had been hit...
After the Warriors David Lee's hip injury knocked him out of the playoffs, Pacers center Roy Hibbert offered his support ... in a really backhanded sort of way.
David Lee clutched at his right hip, hardly able to put any weight on his leg as he tried to scramble back down the court to play defense.
The painful grimace on his face told the story - this wasn't good.

Roy Hibbert took to Twitter Monday morning to express his dislike for David Lee, but to also wish him a speedy recovery as he will miss the remainder of the playoffs with a torn right hip flexor. Lee & Hibbert were involved in a shoving match in February while fighting for rebounding position and resulted in a mini-brawl between the Indiana Pacers and Golden State Warriors...
That scuffle between the Warriors and Pacers in February, for all the wrong reasons, was one of the more enjoyable moments of Golden State’s season thus far. To jog your memory, Roy Hibbert and David Lee got involved in a shoving contest, Hibbert went Incredible Hulk on Steph Curry, and Mychal Thomspon clowned his son.
For their efforts in igniting the fracas, Lee and Hibbert...
An already uphill battle just got tougher.
I don’t think we have to worry about Indiana Pacers Roy Hibbert being tapped by Hallmark to write greeting cards any time soon. After Golden State’s David Lee went down with a leg injury and was announced as out for the remainder of the season, Hibbert sent him this tweet:
I really don’t like @dlee042 but I really hope he has a speedy recovery. Hate to see guys get get hurt...
