Here’s a shocker; the NBA can’t get a disciplinary handle on its’ players. It wasn’t more than two months ago that we were talking about Kobe Bryant getting caught on camera hitting a referee with a gay slur. David Stern came down hard on Kobe and hit him with a $100,000 fine. So when Joakim Noah popped off at a fan on Sunday night and got into a verbal exchange that resulted in him also getting caught yelling a gay slur, it seemed only reasonable that his punishment would be just as bad as Kobe’s. Right? Wrong.
I can see David Stern playing pin the tail on the fine donkey in his office. Or spinning the roulette wheel and handing out a fine based on that.
