PLAYERS: Deron Williams
TEAMS: Brooklyn Nets
Via NY Post: Deron Williams struggles this season have been closely documented. So have his excuses, arguably starting a domino effect that kicked Coach Avery Johnson out of Brooklyn. Now Williams is attributing his struggles to another factor that this time the Nets might not be able to react to – he’s overworked. He’s shooting %39 and scoring a career low 16 points per game. “I didn’t take any time off. After last season, I never stopped working out,” he said according to the NY Post. “After the Olympics, the day I got back I worked out the next morning. I thought it was the best thing to do, and now looking back, it probably would have been smarter to take some time off and get a little bit of rest, especially on my legs, and my ankles in general. “I took a lot of pounding over the last year because even though we had a shortened season, I was over in Istanbul, so I haven’t had a break since before then. I felt like I could handle it, and at the time I thought it was the right t...

Nets' Deron Williams May Be Fatigued

Brooklyn Nets guard Deron Williams has still been productive this season, but he hasn't been the player he's been in years past.  Part of the problem may be the fact that he hasn't had a break.  Williams essentially played the entire 2011-12 season, played in the Summer Olympics, then began the 2012-13 season. Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News suggests that the...

Brooklyn Nets Still Have Long Way to Go, As Weak Schedule Could Be Fool’s Gold No Matter Who Is Coaching

No player likes to be taken off the court, but Deron Williams had to be wishing interim coach P.J. Carlesimo would take him out of his misery in the third quarter on Monday. Williams, who has stunningly devolved into the most average $17 million point guard the NBA has ever seen, clunked and stumbled his way to another forgettable performance in a loss to the Spurs. Did the Nets Unfairly Fire Avery Johnson?

The Brooklyn Nets organization has displayed many times through its actions in the past year that they are in “win-now-or-bust” mode. Kris Humphries’ Wife Is Pregnant With Kanye West’s Baby Now

Great. There was a rumor earlier this year that Kim Kardashian was pregnant with Kanye West’s baby, but everyone in her camp of evil harpies denied it because it would have meant that she had been sleeping with West while she was still “happily married” to Brooklyn Nets forward Kris Humphries and then he could have taken her to court and shouted, “Hurrrrr, pay up, derp....
