Via Lost Lettermen:

NBA fans have heard of “The Custodian” Brian Cardinal, but junior forward Derek Raridon literally does that job at Division III North Central University in Illinois.
According to a story on NCAA.com, Raridon sweeps the floor before games then cleans the glass during them. He works 40 hours a week with the school’s custodial staff and facilities department and 20 per week during the school year.
“Our days start early,” Derek said, according to NCAA.com. “My boss has always been a hard-working guy and he wants us here at 6 a.m. The first thing we do is clean the basketball gym floor and get it ready for whatever is going on that day.”
Raridon’s father, Todd, is the head coach at North Central. Derek got the job at the school when he was 16, following in the footsteps of his older brother, Mitch, who played and worked the same job at North Central.
Derek Raridon has averaged 12.2 points and 5.4 rebounds on the court this season.
Something tells us that Austin Rivers doesn’t sweep up at Cameron Indoor Stadium before Duke games, but we wish that all players had Raridon’s work ethic.
