On Wednesday night, the Cleveland Cavaliers destroyed the Charlotte Bobcats. More important than simply beating the NBA's worst team, Dion Waiters, Tristan Thompson and Kyrie Irving combined  to score 58 points in the process. Forty-nine games into the season, the Cavaliers' "Rising Stars" have now led Cleveland to a 6-4 record (!!!) over the last ten. Following the most recent win, I caught up with Waiters to talk about how things feel for the rookie as the All-Star break approaches.  Thompson, Waiters and Irving went for 17, 19 and 22 points respectively. Maybe that's what next season might look like on a more regular basis.  Who knows. While I don't want to get too carried away with beating the Bobcats, sans our boy Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, six wins in the last ten games is impressive for this group. Especially when you consider the Cavs' second best player is rehabbing his way throu...

Cavs' growth comes in form of trust

CLEVELAND -- Kyrie Irving stood in front of his locker, rubbed the back of his neck and looked at no one in particular. He was asked if he thought the suddenly surging Cavaliers are feeling more confident these days. You could say that, he said, before repeating himself while wearing a serious look. You could say that. Irving was speaking after the Cavs 119-108 win over visiting...

With Kyrie Irving focused, Cavaliers on a roll

With a refocused Kyrie Irving, the Cleveland Cavaliers are hoping to add to their recent success. A visit from the Charlotte Bobcats could also help in that attempt. The Cavaliers will try to earn their sixth win in nine games and fifth in their last six at home Wednesday night against the struggling Bobcats. After averaging 35.7 points and shooting 61.2 percent over a three-game...

NBA News: Cavaliers prepared to offer Greg Oden a two-year deal

Recently pegged as one of the few teams to be potential suitors for former Ohio State center Greg Oden, the Cleveland Cavaliers are reportedly set to offer the 25-year old a two-year contract with a team option for a third year. Jason Lloyd of the Akron Beacon-Journal reports that this deal will be offered after the February 21 NBA trade deadline. Oden, who underwent microfracture...

Small goals paving the way for big wins in Cleveland

The mountain has been turned into a series of considerably smaller molehills. While the Cleveland Cavaliers have a long way to go before they are even within eyesight of the top, each rest station along the way comes with its own intrinsic reward. After being embarrassed by 18 points in Detroit late last week, the Cavaliers — the team as well as the front office —  had a series...

Biki Sweats: Can upticking Cavaliers make Superfan pay for his “UNDER 32 WINS” wager?

As hard as things like Dan Gilbert and The Curse of Chief Wahoo make it to get too enthused about the Cavs recent surge from horrendousness toward potential semi-mediocrity, there is the not-insignificant matter of this website’s very own lord of the underworld — the legendary Biki, also known as the legendary Superfan, who knows better than anyone that it is what it is until...

Cavs answer energy bell

CLEVELAND -- Byron Scott wanted the Cavaliers to display more energy against crummy opponents, and man, no one better to use for a trial run than the Charlotte Bobcats. Theyre as crummy as they come. But instead of stinking right along with them, the Cavs turned Wednesdays game at the Q into 48 minutes of garbage time. Final score: Cavs 122, Bobcats 95. But lets forget about...

Magic-Cavaliers Preview

Although the Cleveland Cavaliers haven't defeated the Orlando Magic in almost three years, they would appear to have an ideal opportunity to so Friday night. Having picked up the pace over the last two weeks, the Cavaliers try to snap a 10-game losing streak to a struggling Magic team dealing with more than its fair share of injuries. Though Cleveland (15-34) sits at the bottom...
