MVN:
Basketball as we all know is a game of running and abundance of jumping, and all of that stuff we see in those Sports Illustrated magazines with they're deliberate pictures.
Well the real surprising thing is how they can dunk. How do
basketball players manage to jump at least four feet in the air? I
mean I have browsed through so many pictures of Kobe Bryant and other
basketball players dunking abnormally.
And don't tell me you havn't seen a basketball player dunk.
We all know that they are skilled to jump that high. They probably
spent some time on leaping exercises. But the jumping jacks and
exercises like that do not make that happen.
If you think "yes," two wise brains are already thinking. But I have
a theory, and as you can tell from the title: Do basketball players
defy gravity? I mean seriously, how do they do those inconceivable
dunks?
You see Danny Granger barely jump when he is going for the
three-pointers. But when you see him dunk, in actualality, it seems
like he is in the air for four seconds. Talk about defying gravity,
right?
If you have been to a basketball game, you see the force they put
into their jumps that they do. It is not easy. Oh, not at all. All you
see is the player getting the ball and jumping like ten feet in width
and five feet in height.
It just amazes people, really. Then after seven seconds you see
their hands slammer against the rim. Wow! Simply amazing, and hey, I
guess that's why NBA's motto stands for "Where Amazing Happens,"
because it really does.
Now dunking like that, some players weren't even trained to do that
when they were youngins. Maybe they were just born to play, because I
know I can't dunk at all because I am like a 5'2" kid who can dunk on a
seven-foot rim.
But those players, it looks like they have this special, microscopic jetpack under their jersey that let's them dunk.
However, the element of dunking is most assumingly practice, and
although I have practiced like many of you probably might have, and if
you can dunk, tell me how in a comment but I guess not many of you can
on a ten-foot rim.
Yes, these guys are all-pro at the activity. I have watched LeBron James play and boy is he fantastic.
Oh, and did I mention the athlete that really has rim-slammers going
is Rudy Gay. That guy can dunk. And when he dunks, you can see the hoop
just vibrating slowly. That is just spectacular to see.
One thing that I have convinced towards myself is that basketball players can defy gravity.
They are just simply amazing like the NBA slogan says it is. Now if
you agree, comment below and share your thoughts, but however, so far
the way they perform their dunking skills is shocking.
Not only can they dunk good they can dunk really fast.
I was reading a book the other day and it was Kobe Bryant was
dunking so hypersonic that the opponents' players were just wandering
as he batters his fingers against the rim while the ball slowly slides
in. Now that is pure skill.
So you got me here? It's simply what I think: Basketball players defy gravity.
